Me: I should get round to building an entry for Annihilation Nation--
Me to me: Rebuild Vertigo for the 7000th time

So yeah, here's a version of Vertigo with a single large Minion disc that doesn't clip through the motor. Armour's not as strong, weapon's not as powerful (Perm 80 instead of Perm 132), and it gets deweaponed by MechaVore which is kinda worrying... but on the other hand, I think it looks pretty darn good.

Now I will admit: the right-hand disc support is actually attached to the left-hand disc support via a 40cm extender that passes straight through the disc, as I couldn't be bothered to try positioning a matching baseplate anchor on the other side (the left-hand disc support isn't lined up properly to start with). There is an anchor on the right-hand side, but it's attached to the disc support, not vice versa. I don't think this invalidates its IRL-ness, as it's purely for aesthetic reasons and creates the illusion that the supports are actually physically attached to the disc.

(I'd also like to add that I tried building one with two Mini Minions powered by a dual E-Tek, but I couldn't armour the motor without it looking dumb)

Six of the last seven posts in this showcase are me, where's my feedback y'all :dumb)

Anyway, here's a couple of new bots. Firstly, Redclaw, a MW version of Deathstalker built for Annihilation Nation. Doot came up with the name, and Rob reskinned the frenZy hammer for me. In the process of screenshotting it, I noticed the control unit was clipping out of the back (RA2CF can be a real pain sometimes) so I switched to the smaller one and re-sent it.

And here's a Tombklone, hopefully the last new one I'll ever make. Weapon is actually two Moros blades stuck together, and slightly clips through the weapon motor, but I'm using the longest Perm available so there's literally nothing I can do about that. Skin's a bit messy but I'm proud of the extender work.

They look fairly nice, could use some edge lines.
I'd give advice, but I don't play DSL.

On RedClaw, I'd recommend trying to get Titanium 5.  The micro-control board is a first for places to save weight.  Otherwise, this bot looks quite dull and nothing else.

Jungle Fever seems pretty good though.  No criticism there.
I have several opinions.

So a little while ago I built a Son of Whyachi-style overhead hammer spinner. Never bothered skinning it properly or showcasing it. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I saw someone (I can't remember for the life of me who it was) post a HS that used a 200cm DSL disc, and I thought to myself, "You know, I've never seen a bot with a 250cm disc... hold my beer, fam."

I'll skin it properly tomorrow and also probably replace the a e s t h e t i c forklifts with wedgelets, but it's nearly 1am right now and I can barely think straight

...or I could rebuild my "literally just a box" axebot that I showcased four months ago ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Meet Valkyrie 2. Pl 10, 784.6kgs, good bot, lazy skin. The Sir K claws are meant to be wings. Not sure how well they work.

imo the wings would look better closer to the top of the wedge
also: make them angle out to the side instead of being perpendicular to the chassis

i'll second Kurt on getting those wings more on the top of the chassis, but more for reasons of reach on the hammer.

alternatively you can make a longer weapon boom.

Took me waaaaay longer than it should have done but I did the things. I also gave it bigger wheels, to give it more ground clearance and to fill out the wheelguards more.

And here's my first pass at the first half of my LDAI team! Skins are still subject to change and I'm not sure about Zero Degrees. I can't build lower than MW very well.

Yeah, the scoop is at the front, but theoretically the axe could work double-sided.

If the plow is the front, turn those teeth around so they can help trap, plus it'll look cooler.

That totally defeats the purpose of them being wings then.

Wow, has it really been a month since I posted here? Oops :dumb)

Anyway, this week on "dumb stuff I built just to see if I could": a MW servo lifter Voltronic clone. As it turns out, DSL servos have so little power that it can't even lift a lightweight (honestly makes me wonder what they're even for), but it's wedgy enough to just get under opponents and shove them around the arena. I also had the foresight to add teeth on the underside of the arm, so it can act as a clamper.

Apparently DSL servos need counterweights so I'll rebuild Do You Even Lift some other time (and probably bump it up to CW)

Speaking of CW, here's a pair of CWs that I'll be entering into Doot's tourney as a SHW clusterbot. The idea is that Vice grabs opponents with its jaws, and then Virtue cruises in to mess up their day with its MechaVore VS. I'll enter one of them (probably Vice) by itself into the CW bracket.

...not entirely sure about Vice's IRL-ness, come to think of it...
