Presenting an evolution of my bot Stingray, from original Robot Wars-style bot, to a more serious fighter. I'm trying to make this vertical hammer bot more combat worthy, whilst still keeping it grounded in reality.

The bot I entered into Battlebots, and had to change, is version TWO. Versions three and four only happened today.

Evo 4 is far more stable when swinging, even with THZ.py which caused 1,2 and 3 to spazz, and pretty damaging. A side effect of it's stability is it's inability to self-right due to the length of the bot. Slighty erratic with FBS, utterly hopeless against face spinners.

I'm still looking to improve this, so i'll probably end up posting the .bot file soon.

As a bonus, have a re-skinned hypno wheel.

Could you send the 4th verison for nostalgia reasons?

the one on the right is a bit shaped like TerrorHz. Seems to be a good shape for that weapon.

Can anyone suggest the best component for a counterwight on that bot? ideally one that people don't shout "it clips the motor, UNREALISTIC! LERN2BOT N00B :rage" as people are prone to doing.

Yes, sorry for being unclear. Its a counterweight for the Stingray weapon, which has a combined weight of 55KG on a Beta Geared

There's no need to fear, Underdog is here!
I tried to pack a lot, enough into this chassis. I have weight left over, I know. But I didn't want to add anything else to the bot, hence the decision to call it Underdog. Also messed with the Iron Spike texture, just for the sake of doing so *shrug*

Additional: I think I could go on with different Stingray iterations until the world ends, so i'm leaving it at 6, until I can find a stable method.

Invertable?
I'd almost like to see the wheels.
Better than GK since 2009.
I think SM is a pretty cool guy, eh builds unicycle-bots and doesn't afraid of anything

I meant in terms of the wheels being outside of the chassis, it would kind of look, right...

Repost for the new page:

and my 2nd bot today:

A big ol' rammer, for the sake of big ol' rammerness. Not because there was no goddamn motor that I could use that could keep the bot invertible and with a spinner. No sir.

H-Bloc is TiT3, as I figured it wouldn't need so much with the side and irons.

Underdog is TiT10, so it can take a fair few whacks and keep going.

Revisted another bot. Removed the rear face spinner. Added a srimech. Made it nippy, made it spiky. Made the skin 512x512.

I can't do that, mainly because i'm going through and re-doing a few of them, to try and implement what i've learnt since then. Speaking of which...

Dragon Slayer II: Slay Harder. Got rid of the geared beta and re-did the weapon, to almost a 'chomper'. Would be an effective crusher in DSL 3.0 imo. Added a better srimech, and it now steers straight with the change to 4WD. New artwork, including a 'battlescarred' version t make it look like it's had a few hundred fights
