As a side note, most of my stuff isn't that great until you get to around page 6. Most of the quality since has increased greatly when compared to what I was capable of in 2015 and 2016.
Regardless, I'll keep all my 'bots from ages ago even though they aren't as good as before. Hope you guys understand. ^_^
Legacy stuff is in the spoiler below.
Well, I might be a bit of a noob, seeing as I have only got RA2 approx 1.5 months ago, but I hope I have managed to get in some good robots.
The first robot is by the name of Fly-by, a flipper-bot that can LAUNCH opponents OotA in arenas with walls (RW Arena, DSL Tourney Arena, etc.) It has 3mm Titanium Armour.

The second robot is a highly destructive dual flywheel bot named Crazy Jane, which can obliterate the entire DSL 2.1 HW pack easily. Also has 3mm Titanium Armour.

Thoughts?

Not bad! I don't know much about DSL but I think having a grinding type of weapon on a vertical spinner isn't as good as a heavier weapon that can really lift up opponents.
-
Easy to tell you've been lurking. Pretty good bots for the first showcased, so nice job.
A few quick tips from me, try using multi-extenders instead of baseplate anchors - they're a lot smaller and weigh less, while having even more functionality.
You also may want to try removing the wedges from your VS (and maybe also the extra discs on the side), and you could probably improve your plows or weaponry with the extra weight. Issue is with wedges on a VS is if anything gets under your wedge, you won't be able to hit them. No wedge, no problem. They'll always go under, but you'll always hit them. That plow support setup lends itself very well to this method, and upgrading them to the heavy ones will really benefit your durability. Taking the other discs off on the other hand will make your weapon spin faster due to less weight - always a plus. Perhaps consider ways you could shrink your chassis and use 2 perm132's instead of 1 dual e-tek for some really awesome dual-vs power.
Good luck!

Hey, remember when I tried to upload stuff? Me neither! Anyways, a mod to Crazy Jane. Introducing...
She has 2 devestating grinders and can rip anyone apart easily. She isn't defenseless, either, with 3mm titanium and 2 halfsheets to stabilise and protect her.
And what can she do? Well...
She can kill just about anything! Critical E isn't safe, WIIde Load isn't safe, hell, Mako can't survive her (to be fair, though, Mako did rip off a flywheel).
Originally, she did have wedges, but the wedges did an AGOD and I had to remove them. Good choice, too - CJXT can kill flippers even when they get under her!
What do you think?
-
welcome back man :)
looks pretty solid, I'm a little worried on if you have enough weapons though. it's pretty easy to outdrive the AI (its dumb as rocks), but if you enter tournaments we use AIed robots completely so you can't use driving skills to get around that. you need as many weapons as you can in that situation.
also since AI goes straight at each other and doesn't flank, you may find this thing get annihilated by gut rippers. you may want some longer teeth to at least have a chance of knocking them away. if you press f12 you can see the collision meshes of components, and hypno teeth have a very small one. otherwise, good job.
I'm not sure if you've noticed yet but DSL 2.2 released, it has a lot more components and better balance and stuff than 2.1. I'd give it a shot.
-
If you're aiming for realism then move the inner drums with razors, as they're cutting through the perm.
-
I tried DSL 2.2. The result? Well... I made this IRL 'bot... ...thing.
A bloody intricate thing using a flywheel for a weapon. Yeah, you're starting to see a pattern for robots that I create. There is a hell of a lot of plates and outer stuff on Alphastorm, mainly to give it a complex look.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/36585Alphastorm Internals.png)
The internals are rather small, with the main box only taking up a quarter of the weight. The Ref Perm is also a quarter its weight with the weapon and the armour is at least half the weight overall.
So tell me: On a scale of 'Never do IRL again' to 'Bloody god', How'd I do?
-
pretty damn awesome
-
The front looks cool, but the rear's quite messy.
-
it's messy but i don't mind : it looks cool
-
What other have said basically, front looks like neat, typical IRL style, the back though is kind of funky.
It's like a piece of modern art, representing the directionless and convoluted nature of the modern world.
-
I made more IRL-style 'bots and accidentally annihilated Alphastorm. :P
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/72910Maple Mutilator.png)
This robot has 2 drums with a load of beater bars and Tita 1mm armour.
(also inb4 'EMPTEH SPAYCE ARRBLARBL')
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/21379Box Bash.png)
This bot here uses a large spinning bar to deck its opponents. It has Tita 1mm armour and has an armour frame around the Drive E-Teks.
Oh, look, I made something that isn't a VS/Flipper! Anyways, It has razors, flipping spikes and a load of push - 2 NPCF's at the rear and 2 NPC's at the front for some better control.
Also here's Alphastorm getting destroyed i guess because i dunno.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/40566Alphastorm Durability Test.png)
At least it can take on a lot of the replica 'bots - Hell, it killed Mechavore easily enough.
How did I do?
-
I like the last one.
-
More DSL 2.1 'bots 'n' stuff.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/6123le unoriginal sns - RA2 DSL.png)
This is the 'bot I need the most help with. Aptly named because it looks like some SnS 'bots, it has 300 kgs of hammers and 3mm tita.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/51505Face McSpinny - RA2 DSL.png)
This robot is my most powerful yet when it comes to damage - It dealt almost 15000 damage to UnDeadBeat in 1 blow!. 160kg of beater bars makes up the weapon and it is armoured in an overkill-ish 5mm tita.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/85759Flimpaler - RA2 DSL.png)
Flimpaler features 19 razors with 10 of them on BSG's. The BSG razors trap opponents on the spikestrips, ripping them apart and maybe even flinging them over. Has 3mm tita. This robot also annoyed me as the 2 wedges kept AGOd'ing, but it is fixed now.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/45227Bad Religion - RA2 DSL.png)
My first middleweight so far, based mainly on Flimpaler. Features 6 razors on 2 BSG's and has 3mm tita. May need improvement, though. It does do well against most of the pack, which I am happy about.
If you have to criticise relentlessly, then do so.
-
this is very oldschool me

How did I do?
The SnS needs longer weapons since SnSes live and die on their ability to sweep away their opponents with their weapons, on the Face Spinner use either skirts or the half-sheet for the wedge since the full-sheet (?) isn't very good as a wedge, on Flimpaler you need the wedge to be WAY wider since it'll just get swept away if it's too narrow, and on Bad Religion move the razors so that they're behind the full-sheet since right now you're just begging for a spinner to take off the razors and make your bot useless.
-
The front part of BR is actually 2 halfsheets instead of 1 full sheet and the razors are behind the sheets, I just left them on the fired position for a better shot at the internals. I think you also need to change the quote; it's mentioning my 2.2 'bots instead of my 2.1 'bots.
I'll try and make the SnS better, though.
-
Meanwhile, in DSL 2.2... (I am working on 2.1 'bots, just a lil' something.)
An IRL flywheel that is (big shock) based off of Nightmare. I made this for looks, like with Alphastorm and it was a bugger to get fully correct.
-
Not too bad.
Couple of things though:
-Not a fan of the alternating teeth sizes.
-I think it could do with some axle support on the near side of the disc.
-
Nice overall design. Looks nice.
-
Impressive early work dude, hope you stick around.
Nice idea and shape, I would say however that it can be neater, and with the actual weaponry, it seems you've opted for more of a balance between aesthetics and damage. Im sure you could make a more appealing weapon disk to suit the IRL style of the bot.
-
Here is me being a total *insert insult of choice* of myself.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/51890The Spikeball Theory - RA2 DSL.png)
Yes. That is a Dual Perm on a MW with only 56kgs of weapons. It works as well as you'd expect from a robot called 'The Spikeball Theory'.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/77321MINDFREAK - RA2 DSL.png)
I improved le unoriginal sns by... actually downgrading its weapon weight, converting it into a Trinity SNS and calling it MINDFREAK. It deals heavy damage, but it is a havoc fest, sadly.
-
I like the Spikeball theory as a design. Won't like it in the arena due to being unstable :P
The cataclysm ripoff... I think you need longer pistons really. Go for vdma's.
-
Got a new 'bot to show you.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/73516Dead Reckoning.png)
This robot was originally intended to have an axe, but I later gave it a flipper for easy kills via flipping. It's slow, but then again, I haven't been on for a while. Features 2 TWM3R motors with Pussycat wheels.
How did I do?
-
2 magmotor drive on a HW ? Make it faster...
-
Upgraded Dead Reckoning.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/78097Dead Reckoning - V2.png)
This could feature an axe/drum/clamp/potato if I decide to add it. Anyways, is it any better than before?
-
I also am not a huge fan of the small skirt wedge on front seems not really IRLish to me
-
yay same irl robot new features i guess :ermm:
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/25786Dead Reckoning - V3.png)
Modifications:
--Now has the 3mm Tita armour again
--Features more armour plating that covers the robot a lot better
--The rear end has been completely revised, instead having a rear axle extender for stabilisation and to avoid back-stranding. Also features better rear armour plating.
--Better battery power (I think)
--Around 798 KGs
Is it any better than the previous 2 versions?
-
I can't honestly judge, although maybe try 2WD NPC Fast. That should be better than 4WD magmotor drive.
-
I have tried to use 2 NPCF drive, but the problem was that I had to increase the size of the armour plating around DR which consequently increased weight, so 4 TWM3R's are going to end up becoming the best option for the robot, I feel.
-
guys I'm proud to announce that Dead Reckoning is now a father :D
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/99652Mini-Dead and Dead Reckoning.png)
Mini-Dead isn't the best 'bot ever, but I just decided to slap on a Beta motor on a LW due to DSL 2.2's power mechanics. It has 2 Astroflights and is severely underpowered, but can still flip over other 'bots with little fuss.
Dead Reckoning has had some changes as well - notably, the flipper is created out of steel as opposed to titanium. The base construction of the 'bot has also been shaved off to save on weight, which is why it has a flipper with better armour.
-
Here is a revision of one of my earlier 'bots in the showcase, Alphastorm.
It still needs some improvements, such as a srimech, but it looks a lot better than before.
The real question is, do you agree with me?
-
A quadruple post. *sigh* Ah, well, here is a new IRL-'bot by me.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/57333The Judicator.png)
Can someone reply to me already for some feedback?
-
Can someone reply to me already for some feedback?
E-teks are overkill for just two saws. I'd probably upgrade the saws to full-fledged vertical spinners. Try a 100cm disc with some weapons on it.
Bot itself looks pretty cool though.
-
If you can scale that design down to a MW, that would be even better.
-
I improved Judicator and created the middleweight version, aptly named Negotiator.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/87151Judicator and Negotiator.png)
(There is no internal shot as they are both the same, with 4 ants, 2NPC's, the control board and the main extender part that constructs the entire frame.)
The Negotiator (Right): Features two Microvore flywheels on a twin-axle E-Tek motor and is driven by 2 NPC's with mudrunner wheels. Weighs 397KGs and is armoured in 3mm titanium. The kickstand is not present due to weight.
The Judicator (Left): The extender work is now aluminium with some titanium for increased durability and the E-Tek now drives 2 Mechavore flywheels. Weighs 797KGS and the armour is downgraded to 3mm titanium due to the protection around the chassis.
Are they any better?
-
when a HW VS has the same amounts of weapons than a MW VS, there is something wrong with it.
-
when a HW VS has the same amounts of weapons than a MW VS, there is something wrong with it.
To be honest, I tend to go for a proper IRL style build as opposed to the "kill everything in 1 nanosecond" philosophy. Still, both don't have the same weapon weight - Judicator has 50KGs extra weapon weight compared to Negotiator due to the Mechavore discs and spikes as opposed to just Microvore discs.
-
I wonder if there's a way to make the stabilizers look a little more solid. Perhaps sacrifice a little bit of drive for that?
-
I'm not too sure what to do with this one exactly.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/23131Challenger - WIP.png)
I think I might buff up the robot to a HW by adding weapons or just leaving it a CW level. Either way, I need a bit of help as to what to do with this. The plating around Challenger is steel with titanium at the back.
-
Give it a big Judge-style hammer.
-
lots of armor in there... some of it good, but some of it probably excessive
-
All right, I've had to put Challenger on the backburner because of... well...
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/27557Challenger - AGOD.png)
...bleeding AGOD. I have tried replacing the motors, treads, panels and everything, but it still AGOD's.
sigh* Ah, well. Have another 'bot while I try to figure out what the hell I should do.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/52533The Fine Diner.png)
-
remove those side spikes, they're gonna get other bots's
wedges nevermind it's irl, I mean large sloped chassises trapped and gonna not help your clamp.
or at least put them in a more upwards-pointing position.
also i feel that is vastly overpowered. can also make a smaller chassis, but it's OK as it is.
probably remove some batteries and get a stronger VDMA burst.
-
This was originally going to be a Cobalt-esque HS, but it had to be changed due to gyroscopic instability. Still, I made a HS - with 2 versions to boot. Meet Chromium!
-
I like it
-
I don't know how, but I managed to create a 'bot that is not only an IRL ring spinner, but it also features a single-tooth weapon that is actually stable as well! Anyways, here is Dead Ringer!
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/97117Dead Ringer.png)
-
Hey, guys, remember Challenger?
Well, I finally got around to creating the full version with some improvements such as reliable invertability, weapons, and no AGOD! Here it is.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/9556The Challenger.png)
What do you guys think of it?
-
Wow, looks really well put together.
-
i like the ring spinner actually, i may need to mess with a similar setup myself
-
the ring spinner is good proof of concept dude nice
-
A deadly machine that I have created for Wheely Tag Tournament, meet Swamp Lurker!
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/23413Swamp Lurker.png)
This is also my first proper LW, so it might not be the best. :P
-
I can't remember if the replica discs are great or awful. Since the FrenZy hammers are so good I'm going to assume they're good too. However, the bot could be improved by moving the drive motors further apart (to improve turning, which is important on a powerful HS with crap motors like yours). I'm not a particular far of the plows either, but I think they'd be better if you could angle them outward to make the bot wider and more stable.
-
if this is DSL 2.2 then that mechavore disc is gonna be really damaging, also yeah since your weapon isn't exactly huge, higher turnspeed is something required
-
This is a 'bot I created after the reddit expoded into a cloud of angry bees after a certain fight. Anyways, meet the anger-inducing Saltbug!

I see what you did there, also loving that design. A YT thumbnail always made the LW version of Tentomushi look Robotic and this is what I expected to see there. I think you should make the front of the U shape made out of extenders with plates or put armor plates on there or something that isn't directly the chassis and export the skin texture so you could give it a better look.
As for the fight, both winning would've had a negative effect and they got kinda screwed over by the new rule, but even without that it was a close fight and both were good for me to win.
-
Oh that looks pretty well made.
-
:thumbup
-
Loving it - nicely done.

Was going to say that.
Personally I thought about doing one as well for the Warrior Clan replica that I'm working on, however I rather would've liked to somehow make it fly via motors instead of having that huge hovercraft(who I didn't think would still be in DSL). Maybe Click could add a mini hovercraft to DSL 2.3 with the rule that this thing can only be used up to 100(or 150?) kg support drones and not main bots?

That is what I have currently done. Hopefully, there will be a 'bot on this showcase that utilises paint.net. Just trying to experiment with it at the moment.
-
Just got a chance to look through this thread. Nice bots, I especially like the Tentobot and the drone bot.
You should also skin that behemoth plow on the bot on the previous page. It would definitely complete the look.
-
When you are complimented by one of the best RA2 builders ever, you know you're doing something right. ;)
Anyways, I made a robot with paint.net! It used a bit of MS Paint, but only for the trimming of the edges. Here is Unstable Nucleus!

-
Sorry for the double post, but I have done a thing that is... odd. It's based off a certain wood 'bot in 2016 and a joke Dara 'O' Briain made to the team of said wooden 'bot. It even has its own skin as well! Meet HMS Dara's Boat!
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/97438HMS Dara's Boat.png)
-
This is just the best thing ever...
-
Heh, I was thinking about building something similar or reskinning a bot to have wood like armor.
By the way can you press F12 and take a screenshot in the botlab?
I guess that the invisible "wheel traction" box of the Tazbot wheels is rather big up to the point where it clips outside of the chassis.(as far as I know, the game uses that hitbox to apply force to the chassis if the powered wheel is touching the ground).
Ironforge has this issue to a even bigger degree and has insane traction values, often allowing bots to be spiders and climb up walls(try it out with Tunnel Rat in the testing garage).
-
that's a sweet boat
-
looks like something that would be on series 2
-
An upgrade to Chromium with better supports and a wider weapon range, meet Polonium-210!

It seems to be the new craze naming robots after scientific things like elements and chemicals. its very nice and aggressive looking.
-
After looking at RedAce's DSL Reborn pack, I thought to myself: "I could
steal his bots create my own set of 45 'bots with influences from Stock, DSL and other stock AI packs!" Anyways, I decided to recreate Grog, and after thinking if I wanted either the axe or FBS, I thought: "Wynaut both?"
And thus, Grog, The Revengeance was born...
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/68516Grog, The Revengeance.png)

Sweet, I was also thinking about doing a IF pack but after seeing how the physics in IF are I decided to scrap that, might do it in DSL instead. Personally I'll make Grog a thwacker(so the team can have a brute force low tech weapon theme) but this one combines both nicely and helps with the driving since you know where front is.
-
Aw dude. How did I not think of that. That would have made the axes in the pack a little more diverse.
Pretty cool overall. Would probably look even better with a proper skin to the chassis, but still not bad.
-
I made a Plan X-esque attempt. This is what I got at first.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/36299Original Oversized Monstrosity.png)
It was a mess. The first version wasn't that bad, but it was scrapped as it looked messy, with the rear bar looking bad and the blade being high off the ground with a limited range. The side plating was also rather ramshackle and the wheels were a bit of an eyesore, further contributing to a scrapped 'bot.
That doesn't mean I scrapped the concept, though, as I recreated it with a cleaner look, better plating and other tweaks and stuff. Meet the Oversized Monstrosity!
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/33589Oversized Monstrosity.png)
As you can tell, the frame is a lot cleaner and the main weapon is better positioned. The rear armour piece has weapons now and the overall look is a lot better than before.
-
I like it, except the ramming rack on the back. Feels a bit tacked on and out of place. Love the rest of the bot.
-
Loving it, I recently built a plan X in Stock(trying to get as close to the original as possible, think it turned out rather well) I'd say the first one looks more Plan X like(you're not a fan of those mini ant wheels? Then again they did look rather small outside) because the second is flatter, but I think it's better being it's own robot.
Eyes remind me of Panic Attack and the skin is good as well. Try to use anti aliasing for the decals next time and remove the grey/add the texture used for extenders, sheets and all that to give it a metallic look, will look even better then. I would've loved to see your own blade instead of the Fluffy Blade and wonder if there's a reason other than weight and size to use a perm 80. I'd remove the ramming spikes at the back(think Plan X had a lifter/flipper there) and instead get the better perm motor/add protection to the perm end/use the same extenders(instead of a mix of square and round) for the entire bot.
Still loving the bot and will try to build something similar to this.
-
Originally my entry for RNP: 2nd chance before I replaced it, this 'bot was replaced mostly because it didn't seem like a tested machine. In it's place is Polonium-210, which is already on the showcase. Here it is again for you guys.
HOWEVER... this 'bot will still be appearing in the rumble after me and Rob agreed on the rulings for 2 seperate 'bots, so you will see it at the rumble! Anyways, meet C.R.4.P!
-
that is one nice robot I hope my Salamandra gets to face it.
-
It's definitely a fantastic build
-
that is one nice robot I hope my Salamandra gets to face it.
Hopefully we'll meet in the rumble. C.R.4.P won't enter the main tournament, but my other 'bot (Polonium-210) won't enter the rumble. In a sense, I have 2 different 'bots in 2 different tournaments.
-
Do the "eyes" really give off that much light? the front picture makes it look like it has extra polycarbonate armor.
Liking the PP3D bot, but you should add a reversed wedge, like this: / so that the blade doesn't hit the floor if running upside down. Would be even nicer if the npc's were not visible and if the bot used a full disc(maybe reduce the extenders or armor for that)
-
dope af
-
So Sword Of Glory is currently being discussed and if I am correct, you are able to send in 2 'bots per weightclass. Polonium-210 will fight in the Heavyweight division because... well, champ status, I guess, but I am bringing in a new 'bot designed to slam into everything and counter spinners! Meet Kyros!

Oh, you've actually reminded me to edit one of the rules, hah
A nice build, too!
-
Nice, reminds me of Storm 2/Stinger
-
I've upgraded Kyros and renamed it slightly. It'll enter Sword Of Glory. Here it is :3

(ps 0 points to what the 'bot references lel)

But can it has wedgelets two?
-
could always use beaters instead of extenders on the flipping thing for damage
-
I really like that, cool build! Hmm, potential second Cool Entry, I wonder...

Yes, it can has wedgelets too ^_^
Anyways, I created a set of entrants for Sword of Glory before I have to return to college. Its effectively the same 'bot in different weightclasses. Meet the trio, Isotope, Radioactive Material and Polonium-210! (even though Polonium-210 was shown twice :dumb))
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/39059teh famlee.png)
Individual splashes for the 2 new 'bots are below.
Isotope:
I forgot the internals. Sorry :P
Radioactive Material:
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/52154Radioactive Material.png)
What do you think of the trio?
-
Th-... they're... beautiful
-
Isotope is probably the cleanest of the trio. Something about the MW is throwing me off. It's probably the disconnect between the frame and the chassis. Was expecting 2 discs for the HW but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
Welp, I still have a LW and a MW to send to Rob Collins before my entrant spaces are filled for Sword Of Glory. The bad news is that the LW is yet to be made. The good news...
The MW is completed! My first foray into Component Freedom and a lethal looking 'bot to boot, Meet Gorm-Less!
I'm not sure if this is going to be legal in the tournament, but regardless, what do you think?
-
I like the look of it, but I love the logo you did for it. The CF is fine after I (tried in my best yet stupid way) explained the rule to ya, hah. How the flywheel is done is fantastic, I love it. Nice one!
-
In what I am hoping is my final 'bot for Sword of Glory, this LW packs a SERIOUS punch... with some downsides... ah well, meet HX540 C Cobalt Tsunami!
(Also, Rob, the only instance of CF being used is for that 20 degree angled extender to connect the Perm 80. Everything else is legal otherwise.)
-
Angled spinner <3
-
Might as well show off the full splash of all of my 'bots competing in Sword Of Glory in one space for everyone to see. It's in a spoiler tag as the splash is larger than other splashes I have made.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/23092Sword Of Glory 'bots.png)
-
The SofG entrants are finished up which means I can make more IRL 'bots now. Surprisingly, this 'bot took around 1 hour to create, but the robot is an upgrade to a previous 'bot, but now the drone is removed for extra weight which was used for armour and other gubbins. It's also been entirely overhauled and is CF'd up the bloody wazoo as well! Meet Dragoon Evolution!
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/42791Dragoon Evolution.png)
-
CF was used for that Beta Motor, right?
-

and is CF'd up the bloody wazoo as well!
Ye I think so
-
oh gee golly what's this one for huh
Anyways, GTM Robot Wars is coming around and the Radiation Series got a Cruiserweight! The newest from the lineage, meet Fusion Reactor!
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/48027Fusion Reactor.png)
-
This looks the part, really like the paintjob and dat fancy extender work.
-
Love it.
And that axe earlier on is pretty boss as well.
EDIT: Actually just looked through the whole thread as I've not seen it before. Some really nice stuff in here.
-
I somehow missed this showcase. it's beautifull.
Well done bots and skins
-
guyz i made a house robutt
come look at it :3
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/48478Megalodon.png)
I am not expecting it to be selected for GTM Robot Wars, but what do you think of it?
-
I approve.
-
Very dope my man
-
This is absolutely global domination
-
This is absolutely global domination
It's good but not Mr. Uppercut good.
I really like it except for the wheel eyes for some reason
-
Y'know, I might as well make a trend where Polonium-210 won't compete in rumbles, so I'm entering a rumble-specific 'bot in the HW division designed to obliterate just about anything it meets...
Introducing RotomotoR!!!
-
Double Post :P
A while back, I created a load of heavyweight 'bots in DSL 2.1 and without thinking too much, I used the 'BotExchange to transfer between computers instead of using something like a USB stick. One of these 'bots in particular is called Drumbeat.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/70549Original Drum-Beat.png)
This DSL-S 'bot was one of my first drum attempts and it is not good (mostly because of the chewblades :P). Also, it's now a SHW at 950KGs as ChewBlades gained extra weight in DSL 2.2.
This 'bot ended up getting an IRL revision, though, which looks a lot cleaner and better looking to boot! Here is the improved Drumbeat!
-
Triple Post >:(
The second 'bot I have decided to redesign from the 'BotExchange is Vindicator.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/84639Original Vindicator.png)
The 'bot was an odd fusion of DSL-S and DSL-IRL and it wasn't exactly the best. It has rather good damage potential, though.
It got an IRL revision that is a lot cooler and sleeker now! Introducing the new Vindicator!
-
damn, all these are actually hella cool, especially that last one and your house robot
i feel there may be cooler looking options for a wedge than just a small wedge, maybe messing around with those beater wedges (or just another steel plate to make it clean and simple)
-
Previously, I created 2 iterations of NightShade. The first one was quite cool while the second one was godawful, only used to show off paint skills and stuff. This new version might not have paint on, but it is a lot sleeker and more dangerous than ever before! Introducing NightShade MK3!
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/60859Nightshade MK3.png)
-
DP:
Although these robots might not be heavy, what they lack in weight they make up for in power, damage and swarming. Here is the cluster of death, Buzz Blades!
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/24578Buzz Blades Cluster.png)
-
wtf it's as powerful as half of the lws out there
I guess the 1mm plastic is doing favors for the weapon. Kinda worried about how it's gonna lift up MWs though. Wider stabilizers would probably help but you're strapped for weight as is.
-
I remember talking about if you could make a LW with a Mernado gearbox in the discord and i tried to do so. I succeeded, but 'succeeding' might be in a different term for you guys. Anyways, meet Mourn!
-
It's beautiful. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise
-
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/32082Siphoner 2 - WIP.png)
This is Siphoner. Don't know the weight but it cuts pretty close by about 10KGs, give or take. Has 3mm aluminium armour.
Its not that great, just wanted to try and make a robot with a unique ring spinner system. Just looks messy instead. ;P
-
love it
-
Messy? looks perfect
-
That is pimp.
-
How did you do this exactly?
-
How did you do this exactly?
Looks like RA2CF and two rings on the motor(second ring attached on top of the first), everything else should be more or less obvious?
-
One disc, two plates on each point.
-
For those of you wondering how I got Siphoner's weaponry the way I made it, this is how.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/88397Siphoner Internals.png)
There's a baseplate anchor with a 6-mag placed on the anchor. There is a 150cm disc placed on it with a 60cm steel extender CF'd on to the disc on the motor and then another 150cm disc is placed on top of the extender. The rest is pretty obvious.
Also, I created a new robot. Here's Mercury.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/33848Mercury V2.png)
Features 2 weaponed drums and is made in a similar vein to drumbots like Salad Tosser. Weighs exactly 800KGS, but has 3mm plastic armour, unfortunately.
-
Mercury looks really sweet. Not a huge fan of the skin though
-
dude that looks pretty neato
-
I love Mercury as the drum is just epic looking also Siphoner reminds me of Mr Speed Squared :P
-
Ooooh, boy, time to post a 'bot du...
Do not post multiple bots in one post. This means that if you post a single bot, we will give you detailed advice on how to improve it. Posting numerous bots in one post leads to people not giving you good advice and generally making small comments on 1 of them.
dead memes are funni amirite guiz XP
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/10945Psycho-Delica.png)
Psycho-Delica, a MW SnS that has 3 ripping teeth. It's not that great, but it might gain a revision that features a ring spinner later on.
The newest robot, Hellfire. Think Cobalt Tsunami in the MW class and twice the power. Its a lot more stable, remarkably.
Scorpitron 3.0, the newest revision of Scorpitron which I never showcased. The robot has a rather conventional axe, but the pincers remain.
C.R.4.P.P.I.3.R, a new revision of C.R.4.P. Now no longer has cheatbot2 components and has fiercer weaponry than ever before.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/37158PYRA 2.png)
PYRA 2, which is effectively PREPARE YOUR RAW ANUS in DSL IRL terms. This SHW keeps its well-placed spike, but it now has a new lifting fork and cutting knife blade. As expected, its a jokebot.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/89995The Leviathan.png)
Finally, we come to The Leviathan. An upgrade to a previous robot in both size and weight, The Leviathan strikes its foes with 3 blades that can slam down with extreme force. It has 2 motors per wheel to emulate robots like Gabriel.
-
Nice bots. I especially like Scorpitron and the two after that.
-
ramsay bot looks siiiick
-
oh man you built Gadreel but better
It looks awesome!
Can it move around effectively?
-
Well, I guess posts happen rarely because of the discord being a thing. Ah, well, here's some rusting metal I found in the garage that I call "The Industrialist".
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/60371The Industrialist.png)
A robot inspired by The Master and Sumpthing, this robot has an articulated rear tail powered by an overkill servo motor and a front saw that is actually 3 86cm saws stacked together to deal heavy damage.
-
We waited you gave back I LOVE IT nothing else really
-
This is a robot that I like to call "Turret Command".
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/42213Turret Command.png)
The name says it all, really. The robot has a 360-degree rotating turret with a hammer at the front to hit robots from any angle. The front of the turret also has some teeth to catch robots and the robot is fully protected with the massive shell.
-
Looks pretty neat.
-
Well, I gotta make up for not doing anything on the showcase for about 1 and a half months. Here's Kremvh's Tooth.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/82230Kremvh's Tooth.png)
Neat little extenderbot FBS, this. The internals are all packed inside the base while there is angled plates with the Typhoon teeth to deal some meaty damage. Weighs 776KGs with 1mm plastic (mainly because the chassis is tightly packed in lol)
Btw, this was made for the challenge against jdg, TGM and Jamied.
-
Very very nice. Between you and Rob I'm gonna have to make a FBS extender too. Loving the extender work for the flag bit.
-
i like the chassis a lot
now you just need to skin the shell so it doesnt look like every other shell spinner ever
-
Wait, LD AI 2.2's still happening? Well... robots i guess.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/32033LDAI2.2 Team.png)
LW: Cobalt Tsunami (Blanked out on ideas for the LW. So I thought "Why not bring my best LW to the party?" And so I did. Pretty much the same robot with the extender pack on it.)
MW: Life-Less (An upgrade to Gorm-Less that failed to appear in the main tournament for SofG. This upgrade is better defended and has a more devastating weapon.)
HW: Kyros' Power 1.1 (Yep, the nuclear speedbrick is back, now DSC IRL'd. Its the same robot at heart.)
BW: NightShade Nano (A BW Nightmare VS. Its fragile as sh*t, but its weapon isn't that bad considering the flatmotor can give it a good weapon speed. The chisels are there to prevent it from falling over.)
CW: Stompin' Rompah! (This shuffling CW has a good pace and better armour to keep robots away while it lays the smackdown with a massive axe that has been BFE'd. Shufflebot rules dictate that they can be 1.5X the weight, so the Rompah is 898.8KGs.)
SHW: The Leviathan 2 (Already showcased. Intended this to be in the LDAI 2.2 pack for a while now.)
-
I really need to update my Showcase.
This is ring-spinner Annihilatrix. Has a double ring setup with 2 large typhoon teeth on each side of the weapon and faux-bearing bit things to hold it together. Despite having 3mm titanium, it is rather well protected because the internals is a goddamned black disc nightmare. that actually gives some heavy protection.
-
So basically Sallymandra evolution and Dominotrix fused together, looks cool though.
-
hhhhhmmmmmmmmmmnmnnnmnnnn

*Salamandra Evolution
Sallymandra was only ever the MW

that's an amazing ring spinner

The shell and ring spinner look great.

you've really improved since your start :thumbup

Why didn't I comment on this when it came out? I mean, this is pretty sweet looking. Any shots of it with the arm in other positions?
-
What's that? Everyone despises IRL? Perfect! Here's a sh**ty Omega 13 ripoff!
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/4871Alpha 7.png)
Alpha 7 is named as such because Alpha is the first Greek letter and 7 is considered a lucky number. Its pretty much based off of Omega-13 because I wanted to design a flail rammer. The 2 sets of 5 spikes are all on one flail so it isn't retarded OP.
-
the flail poking out the chassis makes me want to headbutt a belt sander
but other than that it's cool
-
yass to everything
-
GTM: Mechavore Flywheels are OP
Me: *autistic building*
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/2365whatatopotjej.png)
BW for Forest Fire. Fully-fledged Mechavore Flywheel because whythehellnot (i forgot to do the skin in the image)
-
> everything has mechavore disks
> even BWs

Pretty much.
-
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/38668mechdisc_preview.png)
-
Glorious.
This is what Click truly intended to happen, I'm sure.
-
So... I'm remaking all of The Rookies Robots. inb4 I fail to do so :dumb)
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/55793Electric Stingray.png)
Lightning Stingray, made for LDAI 2.2. Its similar to the Stock and DSL reborn SR except that tail has been used as an axe now.
-
Looks cool aside from the eyes.
-
Love it, the skin really makes it.
-
Awesome build and skin, but I agree with Kurt, the eyes seem off.
-
I got about 9 days left before LD AI 2.2 subs end, so here's another Rookies Robot Redesign... ...rhing.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/48203BOT CHOY 3.1.png)
This is Bot-Choy III, which has been beefed up to the CW class and is now using a fully-fledged clamp. Its slow, but it can do some good control.
-
Sweet bot
-
Pimp as ****.
-
A lot better than my own similarly coloured yet less look alike Clampbot Anthrax Omega.
Got to love not only the chassis paint job, but the amount of power put behind the machine and the amount of protection on the sides makes mine look more noobish. Good job Demon!
-
4 outta 10 for rookies redesigns now.
Spin Basher, my answer to Spin Bonker. Weapon is driven by an E-Tek and is similar to RedAce's weapon setup, except the weapon doesn't have the weird top bit and the base has chisels for extra dmaage and stability.
Fun fact: The first version used MOE hammers and a Mernado motor. That got scrapped down the line.
-
nice
-
that looks badass
-
I really like how the center bar section looks
-
So OBJRA2 is a thing. I have no ****ing clue how it works.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/73879OBJRA2 Shenanigans.png)
Left: MW flipperbot. Built similarly to Eruption.
Right: HW Rammerbot with flamers. A bit like Storm 2 if it ended up becoming deformed.
So right now I'm wondering how skinning is even meant to work in this because what I have at the moment is the equivalent of a spider jizzing all over the place. Ah, well, I will figure it out in due time.
-
sweet honking arse bandits what is the skin on the second one
keep it like that it looks cool
-
Oh hey I don't remember Adonai being silver...
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/99259Adonai arena.jpg)
but on a serious note great looking bots DOT keep up the good work.
-
So right now I'm wondering how skinning is even meant to work in this because what I have at the moment is the equivalent of a spider jizzing all over the place. Ah, well, I will figure it out in due time.
clearly you didnt watch my tutorial ;)
they dont look bad for first attempts, nice work
-
So... yeah, I need to build more sh** here. At least I reached page 10 now, even if it took like 2 years to do so.
Anyways, new robot. Please clap.
This is Penetrator, a HW hammerbot/flamerbot heavily inspired by Series 2 Chomp. Pretty much a similar robot with 2 jugde gavels so it deals retardedly enormous amounts of damage when it hits something. Keyword being when.
-
can you give it some sort of green extender mohawk?
-
i agree with thyrus, the flat top does look kinda meh
-
So I decided to address the issues with Penetrator. My thought process? Scale it up to
an SJW a SHW with a sh**ty minibot wedge. Because I wanted to.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/48116Penetrator and Fcacehugger.png)
Penetrator now has a massive mohawk style going on the top of it and the 1 flamer became 2. Facehugger is a wedge with teeth and that's it. Altogether they weigh 1,199.7KGs (Penetrator weighing 1,102.5KGs while Facehugger weighs only 97.2KGs) which is bloody close to the SHW limit of 1200KGs.
Also, a proof my priorities are not in check because I stayed up until 1:30AM to make this.
This is Drumbot Singularity, heavily fashioned off of Minnitar Minotaur. The drum is actually 2 drums with flatmotors to give it more kick and it runs on 2 TWM3R2 drives. Weighs 599.7KGs with 10mm Plastic armour.
-
Chomp still looks pretty flat and boxy to me...
-
Singularity looks based.
-
For singularity, how about adding identical wedges so it's still fairly effective while invertible? Depends on how it effects the looks though as it looks really nice.
-
Singularity looks pretty great.
and i agree with kurt. Penetrator does look cool but fact remains that the boxy design is meh aesthetics-wise, even if you added some stuff on it.
-
I can give penetrator a bomb-ass OBJRA2 chassis if you give me its current size dimensions.
-
I.R
Baboon Original Builder
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/195Antimatter.png)
This is full-body rammer Antimatter. A robot I made a while back but never got to showcase because it was left on the old potpal. Luckily, I retrieved it, along with a couple of extra 'bots.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/29803Fatal Deviation.png)
I have no ****ing clue what I was trying to accomplish with this SHW. Its called Fatal Deviation, and the idea was that the entire chassis was the lifter with the treads attached to servos to give it a Razorback/Red Devil-type vibe. It doesn't work and its a glitchy cluster**** clusterbomb, but its still cool. Its also bloody difficult to control because there is a ton of commands for the tread pods to move and the lifter/crusher thing.
I've already shown Vindicator before in this showcase, but its now sporting a better skin this time around. Nothing much else to say. ;P
-
doot can i have your babies please
-
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/79476lolwhatatwit.png)
NAH M8 HERES SOME MORE IRLBOTS
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/79419Hellfire.png)
The miniature Cobalt Tsunami finally finds life in the MW division under the moniker of Hellfire! The robot has better drive and weapon power, but is more stable due to extenderwork preventing it from blowing up.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/15085Kremvh's Fang.png)
And this is extenderbot FBS Kremvh's Fang. The miniature Kremvh's Tooth is not as powerful, but is still heavily fortified, with 2 teeth ripping its competitors apart.
Coming soon to LvD2.
-
Do you ever think about unstretching the aspect ratio when you're cropping or nah?
Would be cool to see under the shell of the shell spinner too.
-
Can you do a Tediore themed bot? that would be awesome <3
-
just go torgue and spam some flamerthrowers and hammers
The color scheme is kinda bland for Maliwan, but I'm digging the shell spinner.
-
Hahaha... I cannot into IRL at all.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/78146Sabre Rocketeer.png)
Continuing with my strange fetishization of making robots after things from Borderlands, this is cruiserweight Sabre Rocketeer. The idea was to make an undercutter with a weapon that is as ridiculously oversized as possible. Its weapon is powered by a Perm 132, but its weapon takes a while to spin up and its armour is piss-weak. Ah, well. Can't get 'em all.
-
holy largeness batman
-
I like all the bots on this page.
-
so it's basically mercenary captain from ARC but without the hoop of shame?
i dig it
-
I love the bot and maybe for your next robot, a SHW to the Radiation series.
-
Vindicator is just fantastic. Something i would actually build irl.
-
GTM Live is a thing, which means its time to make new revisions to robots or new redesigns entirely! Or new robots, but **** it.
Dragoon Evolution is back! This time, DSC IRL has now hit the robot and the skin has been heavilly updated, along with the rear tail being updated slightly. Its still the same robot at heart.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/28203Pangolin MK.II.png)
And Pangolin has got a brand new redesign! Larger wheels, more speed, 100% full extenderbot. Might need to upgrade the front mask to make it much more IRL as the front is a bit barren at the minute.
More will come soon.
-
So sexy those two. I feel like giving a Pangolin clone a shot.
-
Me: You need to do ADOTIRL hosting and create 7 GTM Live robots all with music
Also me: Hey you have that FBS from a while back that you never showed, why don't you skin it and show off like some utter dickhead?
Its obvious to see which option I took.
Meet Koros, the newest full addition to the Demon Industries moniker. With a fierce shell and a fiercer top piece designed for crazy flair, Koros is a robot that is made to look good while it relentlessly obliterates its foes with an array of teeth. The Ronin flags are custom-skinned.
Another note is that it tends to act like a manic steamroller if you try and flip it over; the tail is made to act as a way to help it self-right but sometimes the rear tail can cause it to act like a highly destructive wheel for a few seconds.
-
Nice yin yang design. HW or SHW?
-

A long, long time ago... in a really sh** star wars-esque flashback... I made this 'bot called Necrosis.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/96791Original Necrosis.png)
Initially a robot constructed for a challenge match against Robbo, Necrosis had an angled spinning bar that hit extremely low compared to other spinners. This gave it an edge over some robots, but I never used it after that. :c
And now... the MK.II is complete.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/23042Necrosis MK.2.png)
Necrosis MK.II is a more streamlined version of the same robot with an entirely new design process. A larger base than the previous model gives its weapon, an even larger overhead spinning bar, some great utility. Its also actually skinned. This can self-right, unlike the first version, but it is rather finicky when doing so.
Now to actually try and make GTM Live robots or something...
-
looks like a cool version of ironside <3
-
Version 1 looks cool, but Version 2 is... like a whole different beast. Really cool.
-
The original looks totally rad but the new one just isn't doing anything for me.
-
A new robot? Come on, Demon, you can't be serious!
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/9788Gangrenous Leech.png)
This is Gangrenous Leech, or: "How I learned to make Swamp Thing: The Robot". Its main weapons are a front spinner-killer wedge with 2 flamers that fire out sort of similar to that of a snake tongue while its other weapon is a large toothed thwacking tail. Its small compared to other heavyweights, but it can still hold its own quite well.
-
Hi, Lizzard.
-
I really love it dude, colours stand out and the design is pretty cool! I especially like the tail...teach me your ways!
-
Very cool
-
That looks incredible, I really love that tail design.

Oh man that is dope.

We interrupt the airing of RoboGames to bring you a beetleweight robot the host has made for no real reason other than to enter GTM Live.
Meet, Ricochet. Named after some game that is almost as old as I myself am and weighing in at 174.7 KGs, Ricochet's main weapon is a heavy spinning bar powered by a flatmotor. This gives Ricochet a heavy kick that causes robots to bounce around the arena, hence its name. This robot was mainly based off of Hazard, with a few cues to ICE-Wave.
The wheels also like to go through the chassis' top into the bar, but there isn't much I can do seeing as the wheels are as small as I can get them. Just pretend they're concealed, okay? X3
-
Doot your BW game is on point like all your bots. Makes me realize how much I need to up my skinning game. Bravo
-
Is it me or is that bar clipping through the wheels, That BW looks cool though.

All three look completely sick... I actually have fond memories of playing Ricochet: Lost Worlds on RealArcade (until GameHouse bought em out and deleted their entire back catalog of titles available on the service. Thankfully the entire ricochet series is now available for purchase on Amazon).
For Necrosis Mk.II did you take inspiration from Apex, because it looks awfully similar?
(edited for grammar)

What's this? A new robot? A ****ing new IRL robot?????
Enter the Mastodon. A monster truck of a robot with a massive ground clearance, heavy drive and to compliment all of this, a destructive ripper drum that can shred everything apart no matter where it happens to be on the opposing robot. Its also got reasonably durable armour, with 5mm Titanium.
To put it bluntly, its Yeti with more drum and no forks.
Also, it can beat Paladin. Hence the stupid hashtag thing on the bottom of it. :dumb)
-
>it can beat Paladin
NEW META BOYS

My answer to the bullsh** theme of October 2017. Although Bone Dragon beat it out, I was still extremely happy with this project I made. Its also my very first GHW, which is always something to be proud of. :3
-
It's still impressive, even if you didn't win BOTM. I do like how you overall designed the bot to look not only good with the armor plates and the extender work, but also added a little bit of a combat ability within the bot overall.

[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
This is Avenger. The middleweight version of Vindicator, Avenger is basically what happens if Vindi was halved. 2WD, invertible, but still as effective as ever in a smaller weightclass. Only problem is that Avenger tends to pull a Subterfuge if its disc hits a wall.
-
See Doot think.
See Doot build a LW.
See Doot have a mental breakdown because it doesn't work well.
See Doot post the thing anyway.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Here's LW, Marauder. Remember Vindicator? This is that but an attempt in the LW Division. Its not the best VS around especially as a lot of weight is in the weapon but its a valiant attempt and one I think I'm quite proud about.
Its not invertible unlike Avenger and Vindicator, but it can knock itself onto its wheels easily should it get flipped.
-
Is that a regular or small Minion Disc?
-
Is that a regular or small Minion Disc?
Mini-Minion. I don't know how I can cram a Mega Minion into a LW without it looking wank.
Speaking of wank, a CW Vindicator. Because talent.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Meet Crusader. Evolving on from Avenger, it gains 4WD and a Perm 132 motor. Aside from that, the front mask begins to split out like Vindi. Fights pretty similarly to Avenger with more speed - I think this is the fastest of the lot. Only problem is that it hates to run inverted due to the Perm 132 sticking out awkwardly from the 'bot.
Now to wait for WDKYMYS 2, I guess. Though it has already been placed into TheRoboteer's Scrimmage so :dumb)
-
I'll be quite frank, it's nice. But, it's the same thing that DSC had done previously with Carbonize. It's just the same. Tbh without the names I'd have some difficult telling most of them apart, maybe except the LW.
-
It's realistic, I guess. Not much else to say about it.
-
Needs to have 8wd.
-
Hey, remember when I used to build stuff? Yeah, me neither.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
This is Cocytus. With most of my sh** being named after various gaming stuff you can figure out where this comes from. Its not the most interesting, but it was more to try and get back into making stoofs. Its a MW entering Battle Arcade 2.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
And this is Implosion. This is what happens wen you try to make Expulsion, really. Its good, but the reason why there's a jutty-outty wheely bar...ry? is because RA2's physics are a bit borked and won't allow Implosion to turn if its rotated to the other point of invertability without the rear wheely bar. Other than that, pretty happy with it. Just hits the CW scales at 600KGs as well.
-
Cocytus is a box, but it has a good skin. Perhaps by version four, she'll change into a stock HW, be wedgier, and armed with ramplates, 10 Irons, 16 Razors, and a snowplow. Implosion is cute. I wish I was able to build stuff like that without going, "Hurrr! Why don't you like me, game?"
-
Both of these look really solid doots! I'm surprised you managed to get Implosion as light as you did because it looks like it's heavier!
-
Implosion is defiantly my faivorate and I'm assuming he's relatively small as that design looks like it was hard not to make a HW
-
Cocytus is excellent. Love big american-style slabs of metal on wheels. I get the reference as well. My BBEANS 5 entry had that name :P
-

Thanks, heh. Never actualy realised you had a 'bot called Cocytus until now, so whoops. :P
In other news, this is what happens when you attempt to play with modular 'bots. I think this is one of the very few times you'll see me mess around with this build style.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Meet Oryx's Judgement. A robot with 6 different configs to play around with (though its only 5 now because 2 configs were too similar), Oryx's Judgement has these configs:
A: Flamer Wedge. Designed to hold foes down with the spikes and burn the juicy internals apart.
B: Tank Wedge. This isn't featuring, but its a heavy steel wedge that can take heavy blows.
C: Flipper. For lobbing over robots that can't self-right. Which is... almost none.
D: Horizontal Flywheel. Your standard MOE-styled spinnah. Quite underweaponed, but still decent nonetheless.
E: Drum Spinner. Made to kill HS'es and FBS'es with 2 ripping blades inside the drum.
F: Battering Ram. A heavy wall with a massive spike to deal good internal damage to foes.
All these configs have the same drive (2 rear TWM3R's and 2 front slims) which makes Oryx's Judgement bloody agile. The only problem I've had is battery power, though, mostly because theres so little to cram into the MW category. Ah, well. :V
Coming soon to Swiss Army Warfare...
-
In my quest for IRL based domination, I seem to have realised that I have yet to build an Antweight. Also as it turns out, SAW is still in signups, but I have made an alternate config for a robot I entered. And GTM CSS 2 things as well. Yay!
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Oryx's Judgement now has a seventh modular config, a large lifting blade designed to piss off spinners and other robots with high ground clearances. While it can't deal much damage, this blade has the capability to win fights through immobilisation.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Here's my first antweight, INTRUDER! If you've ever played NAR AI then you'll know exactly what this is based off of. While its not a great fighter, being an AW lifter and all, its one that I am happy with nonetheless. Also happens to actually work which is even better.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
And here is the GTM CS 2 IRL entry, Phosphorous. No, this is not a tombclone, rather an Ultimo Clone-structo(?) that has some heavy kick to it with 100KGs of bar spinnah. While the MOE-tor version had to be retconned, the Perm 132 version is still pretty damn good. Also gave me more weight to play around with, so the loss of the MOE-tor ended up as a boon in a weird way.
(EDIT: I know the version I have shown was the original version with the MOE-tor. Please ignore that. :V)
-
if you didn't tell me that the ant was an ant I would have said it was a MW or something because it's so clean
-
that modular thing is beautiful
-
Have to agree with G.K here. The Module bot is pretty impressive, but I got to say the drum module and the flamethrower module are definitively my favorites out of the six, despite all the modules being equally effective.
-
What do you do when you run out of ideas? You make a Blacksmith clone!
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Here is Forgery. This is now my actual GTM CS 2 IRL entrant and is basically Blacksmith but tankier in a way. Quite happy with how this turned out, in all fairness. The panels were a bit of a bitch to get right, but when I got them right, they managed to fit perfectly. Weighs 798.0 KGs, has 3mm aluminium chassis armour and has titanium plate construction because i still have doubts about Aluminium armour for whatever reason.
-
this might be slightly better than my attempt at an axebot for GTM CS2 ,and by slightly I mean a lot...
does it have any issues with 'jumping'?
-
Quick! Someone make a Minotaur clone!
In all seriousness, This has got to be one of my favorite showcases.
-

Certainly nice, if maybe a bit bland due to the lack of colour.
-
BIG TIME HAMMER BABAY
-
It's a new year, so its usually the time for me to fire out a robot pretty late in comparison to others. This is one of those times.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Enter The Doomsday Prophecy. A massive, hulking Crossfire-inspired robot, complete with a flamethrower to make the whole thing even more ridiculous. This weighs in at 799.2KG's and though it only has 1mm Titanium, this thing hits like a freight train. With 2 Moros blades, the damage is cataclysmic if it manages to hit whoever it faces.
The thing may be unstable as anything, but I'm happy with it. My first robot of 2018, everyone.
-
:heart_smiley: :heart_smiley:
-
Hmm. It's very similar to Squirrel Monkey's latest which kinda takes away from it IMO. Well built as usual though
-

My plan to make a Crossfire-inspired robot was lingering around way before S_M made his take on the robot. Nonetheless, thanks! ^_^
-
Taking a real or RA2 robot's gimmick is not all that original anyway, so who cares? As long as a robot does its job (look cool, fight well, whatever) then the robot is good.
-
That weapon support though! <3
-
HEY! Are you sick of mechavore flywheels? Yes? ...well**** :V
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
This is The First Curse. This Afterthought-inspired CW robot has a massive flywheel at the front along with side strips of spikeybois to deal damage from all but the back. Quite chuffed with this, though the caveats are that this was supposed to be a MW but I went overboard, and other setups (100cm solid+4 smalls) were AGOD'ing, hence the Mechavore flywheel.
Ah, well. Quite a happy. ^_^
-
super clean regardless of the mechavore disc

The colour of the mech disc doesn't really match as is IMO. I'd switch all the parts that are currently yellow to white so it matches a bit better. Plus it would match the colour scheme of the gun it's based on then.
-
For some reason i think the two spikes on the back are my favorite detail. Great bot per usual from the mechdisc maestro
-
By Roboteer's request, The First Curse has had a palette swap from black/white/gold/red to just monochromatic with a slight bit of red detail. It does actually look neater, though, and it hit the 600KG limit as well with a panel replacement. Also gave it more screens from different angels.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]

that is one beautiful machine

Personally Im more a fan of the yellow, but this is still great.

Thirded (is that even a word) about the yellow...now it just reminds me of a Horizontal Splicer...it's cool but plain.
-
Man, I've been on a bit of a building kick, haven't I? Ah, well. Its been overdue at this point, so I guess maybe it had to happen.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
The First Curse is still a CW, but it now has an option to enter HW tournaments with a smaller bot known as Imprecation. The 200KG robot is small, but packs a big punch with a large sawblade at the front to tear into foes. Its sacrificial, but can do some damage before its eventual death.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
And here's the newest robot of the lot, Black Spectre. A rambot at heart, Black Spectre can get under others easily with its 2 wedgelets at the front and then slam others around, dealing some damage with 4 slashing teeth at the front. This is meant to have some traits of a vehicular design, hence the rear exhaust pipe and other details.
Special thanks goes to DSC who allowed me to use his Zhuge artwork as seen on the back of Black Spectre. ^_^
-
I love how Black Spectre just looks so clean overall. Lookin' good man. The only thing I have to critique is the Tailpipe. I get it's mean to be a vehicle thing, but I honestly feel it looks out of place and redundant with as an unstucker, especially with the spikes attached.
Still looks great overall, as with the past few bots on the previous pages.
-
Really love the extender work on Black Spectre and the panel work on The First Curse. The crossfire esc bot amazes me. Please continue to make amazing machines please
-
I can see what RedAce is saying. The exhaust-pipe, spikes, and the antennae are all a little too much together, but 1 or even maybe 2 of the 3 would be perfect as is.
The angled spinners as a multibot HW looks great. I personally don't mind the lack of colors in them; simple and sleek.
-
Nice. The car look is good to the point where I'd say that backside is peerless.
-
Oh. sh**. I've been out of this game for so long.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Meet Hezen Vengeance. The 'bot is inspired by the Italian Zeus, and its main weapon is a large lifter and has brute force to it as well, using 2 NPCF's and Magmotors for drive. It isn't that new, but I needed a reason to resurrect this showcase, honestly. It's almost on page 4, hah.

I tried to get into the replica building game. That's either a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
This is a recreation of End Game. It is just on the CW limit of 600KG's, and I'm mostly happy with this aside from the only issue being that I couldn't get this 'bot to have a single toothed flywheel. It has 5mm Aluminium armour and is pretty damn nippy as well, having 4 NPCF's.
Up next, me getting an original idea...
-
I like this. :heart_smiley:
-
Wowie, that's a spicy bot. I'd recommend just for effectiveness you add a small wedge lip just under, but only so it can get anything.
-
Very nice :D Wouldn't it be quite easy to have a single tooth as the teeth are inbetween the two discs rather than attached to the rim?
-

Today I make more sh** to post on a forum. This must be exciting, I think.

This is Hyperborean. A Mecha Rampage-inspired 'bot that is almost 4 metres in width. Its designed to trap 'bots in its giant frame before cutting 'em to pieces with a central flywheel. So in a sense, its like if Huggy Bear and Mecha Rampage ****ed. Only problems are that it can't last the full 3 minutes and the whole frame is aluminium due to how much weight is in the massive frame.
I did name it Artemis initially, but a certain user just named a SHW that so I had to name it something else.
-
Jebus it's big, it's like my tall SHW if it was wide. It's pretty "complete" looking, so any mods you make to it will probably require a redesign. :thumbup
-
I hope it works better than Mecha Rampage actually does.
Cool build nonetheless
-
it can't last the full 3 minutes
You and me both, Hyperboreon.
Nice build, btw.

End game is 9/10. The disc is a bit off, but nothing you can do. You can’t make an STD in ra2.

I call this 'bot The Blighted Mind. I took inspirations from both Hypershock and Witch Doctor along with a bit of Yeti design ethos in there to make this 'bot, a 797.5KG Heavyweight with a small vertical flywheel, fast speed and a kick-arse srimech to boot. I'm pretty proud of this one, though I'm sad I can't get this thing to last the full 3 minutes. Its like I've found a new issue or something...
-
Other than the fact that the teeth are off center and the DSL disk is only on one side of the drum, that is awesome.

-
That srimech really gets me going dude
-
Modifications, baby!
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
The Blighted Mind has received some improvements, mainly that it is now more compact and has more batteries as well so it can actually last the full 3 minutes! Unfortunately, this came with one... very ****in' strange issue: The Slow mag snapper I originally used wouldn't work more than once on this 'bot for some unbeknownst reason, so I had to revert to a small VDMA Piston, which does still srimech the 'bot well enough.
-
Would you please consider posting Blighted Mind on the Bot Exchange as it looks really cool and I would personally really want to mess around with it a bit.
-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JeimE8Wz6e4
-
Yeah that looks really clean and nice. It also looks like a lot of fun to drive. Shame about those srimech issues, but hopefully those issues don't come up often.
-
10/10 I can't fault it, it looks awesome now
-
Time to make a Full-body Drumbot! Wait, geese made one already?
...sh**e. Here it is anyway.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
This 'bot is called Shredder. A 790KG 'bot with a giant rotating drum that is designed to grind away on other robots and is quite well balanced, to boot. I think a revision may be in order, though, just so I can get the 'bot to look cleaner.
-
superbot is gonna sue you for name royalties
That is pretty sweet. I also love how you kept the drum colors closer to the beaters so it looks even cleaner.
-
FBDs, like FBSs, are always a joy to see for me.
Maybe try swapping the weapon motor to a Perm when you do that revision.
-
A few hasty modifications later...
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Shredder now runs an E-Tek motor and has polycarb covering to remove some of the shortcomings that the first version had. The E-Tek also runs backwards as well for some Drum.py shenanigans.

Meet the Storm Scavenger. This 'bot is a treaded ringspinner attempt that I think went bloody well, in all fairness. Kinda wanted to mess around, but I didn't expect to make a full 'bot like this.
-
> spend time on a skin
> don't spend 10 seconds BFEing a disc so you don't need a weird out of place perspex panel
Aside from that it's pretty interesting and cool for a ring spinner. Still a ring spinner though.
-
i love the lil tail
-
I think the skin looks nice and the tail is a nice touch but maybe use a different single tooth setup. It looks weird having only a single typhoon tooth and small counter weight on a large disk

Looks like Bombshell and Ultimo Destructo had a baby that had more than one useful attachment...
It's beautiful.
-
That just looks so clean overall. Love it. Not a fan of how the clamp's back has the burst way out there unsupported, but weight is a problem, and I can see that.
-
Well, I can't seem to post something and not give it slight mods, huh? Ah, well.

[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
The axe attachment has a shorter rear tail and axe to make it look a bit more compact along with wedges and the cutting blade is a lot lower to the ground. That's really it, though the 'bots are still at heart the same.
-
I'm here to build a shell spinner, because **** you and **** creativity.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Here's Endless Winter. I wanted to make a shell spinner that didn't use any of the shell pieces or discs and I think I did a great job at that. Only thing that I may want to change later could be the top part, though that'll mean a total redesign if that were to happen.
-
that is unreal dude :claping
-
this is rude :thumbup
-
Awesome!
-
"The perfect shell doesn't exi..."
-
Only thing that I may want to change later could be the top part, though that'll mean a total redesign if that were to happen.
But I went and did it anyway, because I'm a madman.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Endless Winter's top piece has been changed to something that gives it a better thematic design. I'm really happy with how I executed the snowflake.
And I've also got a 'bot out of retirement now...
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Radioactive Material Evolution. Reskinned and ready to roll once again for Middleweight Mixup 2.
-
Both bots look nice and clean, though the fact Radioactive Material Evolution has no disc slot for the chassis kinda bugs me.
-
Hi, I'm doot. What the hell is a robot? I dunno, but I built one, so that's... something, I guess. Here it is.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Meet Copperhead. A horizontal bar spinner that took cues from HUGE if I decided to tilt the weapon 90 degrees. I'm surprised I pulled it off in the CW limit, but there is a ways to go before it is perfected. Also, my choice of colours is not the best, but hey, that's something I can work on at least. :V
-
I like it!
-
How close to the ground does the bar get when it spins?
-
Sparked by my curiosity after talking about crushers in the OW Discord, I decided to make a crusher of my own. Whether or not I did well is still up for debate, but here is the 'bot!
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
This is Techeun Rage. A fast crusher designed to slam directly into the other 'bot and hold 'em down so that they can't do anything whatsoever. It doesn't have much weaponry, but I'm proud of how the front wedge was executed and it overall isn't that bad.
Also a bonus:
How close to the ground does the bar get when it spins?
Copperhead's weapon is pretty close to the ground, enough that it can hit 10cm high 'bots. However, it does rear up quite a bit, which is an issue that's gonna be hard to sort out.
-
:heart_smiley:
I like it a lot. Nice build as always
-
...I suck at this.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Meet Catalyst. My potential CW entrant for Deathmatch 3 with a drum designed to take on HS'es and wedge under other 'bots. This was made in a similar vein to that of 720 and other drumbots and despite what I say, it turned out pretty damn well.
-
ngl, that's one spicy boi my friend
-
Clean and simple usually goes together well. :thumbup
-
Tornado drums are an interesting choice, excited to see how they fare. Other than that very compact and clean.
-
Looks good, despite being simple. However, it looks like the back has a hole that partly shows the batteries
-
I've died! Or have I?
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Here is Apotheosis. A Dual VS with a brutal design made to look sleek, yet jagged at the same time. I went into this design kinda worried, but I ended up feeling really ****in' happy about this 'bot in the end. If only extenderbots weren't so fragile...
-
WHAT THE?!?!
-
Looks pretty good. Really like the bits on the top and back to give that "clean, yet jagged" you described.
Also, congrats on the AU rank.
-
I've died! Or have I?

This looks incredible!
-
I know I tend to make 'bots super late, but **** me... I guess you can say I'm kinda back, question mark?
Ah, well. Robots, woo!
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Here's Archon. Simple lil' vertical spinner I made just to try and get back into the swing of things. At least I can say it's not the worst thing ever? I dunno, tho.
-
Can't fault it, skin looks great I got nothing more to say
-
This looks great bud! Nice to see you back and building!
-
Nice that you are back Doot. As for the bot, pretty awesome CW VS. I like the sleek shape and the wheelguards, as well as the skinning for it
-
Shame you missed the Apex boat. This is some rad stuff
-
Shame you missed the Apex boat. This is some rad stuff
don't worry, now you can have 5 entrants for series 2
bot is cool. I like the way the week guards fit the chassis
-
Love it, welcome back to building!
-
doot comes back with the bangerest banger that has ever banged
good sh** op
-
Oh, sh**, I've finally gotten back into this! That can be a good thing, but that often ends up going bad. Here, have a robot.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
This is Seraphim. This 'bot has a giant sawblade on an articulated arm alongside front steel plating and 2 front forks which is designed to entrap opponents and cut into them for as long as possible. Not the best drive and struggles to self-right, but it can really control 'bots well when a 'bot is in its grasp.
-
Looks really good, I really like the theme youve got going with the extenders on the forks/arm/tail. Good compliments to eachother
-
That's one sexy ass robot right dere!
-
Microvore. Do it
-
Cool sawbot. I like how gnarly the saw and the arm it is mounted to looks, as well as the trapping spikes.
Also hope you return to RA2TS
-
This is the reason why I stick to Cruiserweights and Heavyweights. Just saying. :V
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
This is called Protostar. A simple Lightweight undercutter fashioned akin to that of Neon/Remora. Not happy with this, but this was more to try and make a 'bot in a smaller weightclass.
I've also got another 'bot in the works, but that'll have to wait for now...
-
Figured no-one really liked that Lightweight 'bot I made. Eh, no big deal, remember how I said I was making an upgrade to an old 'bot? Here it is!
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Yes, here's Pangolin 3! An all-new upgrade to a lineage almost 3-years old at this point, Pangolin 3 comes packing a larger flipper and a better shell to look a lot cleaner, I think.
As a bonus, as well, here's a pic of all 3 Pangolins!
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
--doot
-
It keeps getting cleaner and cleaner
-
Absolutely gorgeous!
-
I mean Protostar was neat, but I just didn't say much.
But Pangolin 3? Woah. That is just beautiful man. Does it run out of power often? I can't see much in the power supply with only two battlepacks unless there's other batteries hidden.
-
It's fantastic. I still think I prefer the overall shape of Version 1, but the polish on this one is undeniably streets ahead. The way you've got the extenders and panels interacting together makes for a super cohesive bot that looks like something someone would actually make, which is something I feel is missing from a lot of bots these days. Other than that, not much more I can say that hasn't already been said. Great work
-
**** yes it's back.
Loving the new bulkier flipper and more streamlined armour. Perfect little trilogy of flippers.
-
Ummmmm... Wow, that's probably my most well received 'bot in a while.
So to follow this up, why not something beyond substandard? Eh, same old. :V
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Here is The Defiler. This is a 'bot that features an eggbeater drum, the first time I've done this. It also has large wedgelets to get under 'bots easily. Maybe another version of Defiler will feature a minibot as this was meant to be a cruiserweight but I got carried away. Ah, well.
-
youre so good at ra2 man
-
I always have some ideas for 'bots. Few tend to go well, most end up trashed. And some... really shouldn't have been brought into this world at all. This is one of those instances.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
This is Gyro. A Wrecks-esque walker that's meant exclusively for PWS6 (hence the increased weight) and moves using both the main leg and its dual flywheels. Shockingly, it actually moves forward, but it does so incredibly slowly. Still, that's a success, right?
...now that I think about it, probably not. Ah, well.
-
Aaaand I'm still alive somehow. Hey, everyone. Haven't really kept up with GTM at all for a while. That being said, I decided to try and make a new 'bot for the hell of it. The results... yeah, they're still sh**, probably. I don't know. Here's a 'bot.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Here's Megalodon. This 'bot is more of a visual overhaul of my past 'bot, Mastodon, except A: It has lifting forks that are useless and B: the drum got changed so that it has more of a distinct look to it. You might also notice the "Chaotic Evil Engineering" thing... yeah, I'm changing my team name fully to that from here on in.
I haven't built a 'bot since about 5 months ago, so I'm probably not as good as I should be. Ah, well.
-
Merry Christmas, everyone. To celebrate, I have been on a colossal building kick recently and have made quite a number of 'bots during the lead-up to Christmas.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
First, Vengeful Dragoon. A re-update of an axebot over 3 years old, now with 4WD, a much lower ground clearance all around and a set of wedges to catch other opponents while its axe slashes away at its opponents. Better design, better drive, better everything.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Next up is Lockdown Protocol. The idea behind this 'bot was a clamp that used an actual crusher arm to hold down its opponents rather than using the typical 2-burst system. Unfortunately, RA2 hates crushers so it isn't that effective, but its fun to clamp down and throw 'bots around.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
The next 'bot is Emperor. This penguin-based machine has an obvious inspiration, that being of DUCK! The plow alone is well over 350KGs and is purely steel, so its very hard to break it off entirely. Aside from that, its fast, it can lift and its angry.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Last, but not least, is Untitled Antweight Axebot, one of my very few excursions into non-Heavyweight 'bots. The antweight axebot is not effective at all in combat, but I'm actually happy that I was able to make it work. It has 2 Ant Batteries inside of its raised sections for its power.
-
The veteran has come back.
And what a f***ing comeback you’ve made, be proud.
-
didn't even think it was ra2 for a hot minute there. woah.
-
In typical doot fashion, I'm incredibly late to making a new 'bot for the new decade. Still, I've made one, and probably lost my ****ing sanity in the process. Ah, well.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Here's Nadmenny Bratchny, Nadsat for "Arrogant Bastard". This is a fast 'bot that uses a 4-bar flipper to overpower its opponents and throw them over. Quite a nimble machine and is armoured with 5mm Aluminium.
-
Eeee yesss I like it
-
The new npcs would make it so that those rings dont poke out the top of the chassis. Also, pirelli wheels are a cleaner version of the hypno wheels i'd highly recommend checking out. Other than that looks pretty solid.
-
A bit late, but I really like the antweight.
-
Haven't been commenting a lot lately, but these builds lately have just been clean and solid. The only thing I would change with Augmented Chaos is maybe make the name logo on the chassis more outlined? Just slightly to make it pop a tad more? Not much else I can say unfortunately.
-
...so, anyways, with rampant depression and other stuff aggressively acting up on me, why not make a new 'bot for the hell of it?
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
This is Kill Switch. A 'bot which took most of its main inspiration from Mega Melvin, though with more of an industrial twist that I applied to it, mainly on the axe and wheelguards. This 'bot is most likely never gonna appear in tournaments, mainly due to my fleeting interest and because it uses a Judge Gavel and Burst Motor, so those plans went out the window. Still, I'm happy with this machine...
...oh, yeah, here's Augmented Chaos again, but this time I'm actually gonna act like I'm enthusiastic or something.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
So, yeah, Augmented Chaos. In a way, its a spiritual successor to Annihilatrix, though I've changed how it works, mainly in the drive. Now upgraded from 2WD TWM3R's to 4WD NPC's, Augmented Chaos is far quicker and deadlier than ever before. This comes at a cost to its armour, which is quite weak compared to Annihilatrix, but sometimes sacrifices must be made.
-
kill switch looks absolutely gorgeous, the chassis skin matches the extenders perfectly and the angled bits just pull the whole look together. as for kill switch, im not that big of a fan of ring spinners however you still make them look really solid.
-
Nice bots.
Doot, you got dis. x
-
Time to continue the conquest of making new 'bots in fine style... or not. Welp, here's another one to add to the showcase.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Here's Wild Side. A 'bot based mainly off of Onslaught, Wild Side uses 2NPC's and a rare case of Power Steering on a 'bot meaning that its quite the challenge to control. The weapons include a lifting scoop that is more designed for ramming and shoving, a self-righter mounted on the top to help the 'bot get itself back up and some rear spikes if the scoop isn't enough.
-
Spicy
-
Wild side is pretty neat. I just noticed the whole 80's aesthetic that you managed to put into the skin and such. I guess the only gripe is how stubby it kinda looks. I don't know, just something about it gives me that vibe.
Still cool overall though.
-
I like it! Its something different and looks cool too! (Also its not a box hooray :P ) The only thing that looks wierd to me is the wedge edge continuing beyond the mountings :o
-
its cool to see the steering unit used on such an elegant build. i love how you used the drums around the axle so it matches the body better.
-
It's been a while. All the BS right now, all the insanity, it does kinda take away from a person. Anyways, how about a new 'bot? And what the hell is a Sigma, anyway?
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Here is Sigma. Based mainly off of Greedy Snake, Sigma's weapon is a two-stage grabbing jaw that can either fire the top jaw to grab onto opponents and lift 'em over, or use both bursts for added flipping power. Rather agile and somewhat durable, as well.
-
That weapon setup is sick
-
Very Spicy
-
Will we get a sequel named Sugma? Or a prequel named Ligma?
Either way, holy balls that looks good.
-
Ah, Pangolin. Probably my most notorious 'bot of my career. I've always loved this 'bot, and now a 2020 edition has come around to finally shake the world! ...or just amuse people on a niche forum. But hey, it's something.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
So here's Pangolin 3: MOD-08JR42. Pangolin 3 essentially redesigned, now finally having an actual chassis instead of an extender frame thanks to my first proper use of OBJ-RA2, hence its name designation. This was a test to see how well OBJRA2 would work, and I'd consider this a god-damned success.
-
It's nostalgic to see this robot return! Great work Doot!
-
Very Spicy
-
I think OBJRA2 has taken ahold of me in some way. Its like I've opened a Pandora's box or some sh**. Anyways, 'bot.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Here's Archimedes. A complete upgrade to Apotheosis, Archimedes is more compact and dangerous than ever before, now with 4WD, 4 large typhoon teeth and a heavy steel wedge. It's designed to immediately smother spinners and tank punishment thanks to its design.
-
Very Spicy
-
God, I'm so rusty with building. Still, that ain't gonna stop me from making something, no matter how weird, wonderful or messy.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
So here's Sergeant RL-3, a 'bot based off of a Mr Gutsy of the same name from Fallout and armed with pneumatic punching fists to give it a major edge over other 'bots and push them around the arena, helped by a heavy plow and 4-wheel drive to overwhelm all in its path, especially spinners. Fast and aggressive, its main weakness is its ground clearance.
-
Urrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh...
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
...ah, right, here's Bunker Buster. I whipped this up rather quickly to get back into the swing of IRL building. It's basically a Hammerhead-like 'bot with 4 spikestrips for ramming and 4 astros for speedy attacks and escapes. I didn't think this'd be my first 'bot of 2021, but here we are.
-
Spicy
-
It's a lil fella with a nice custom skin. Could be flatter I guess, but I know lws have a way of draining you.
Like the use of spike strips, wish they were a more functional part.
-
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
...I've got a lot of explaining to do, huh?
I've been inactive throughout most of 2021 for reasons mostly pertaining to my own self, to be honest. The spark in RA2 I had seemed to fade massively, especially with my hard drive killing itself, but I've still been around in some minimal sense trying to better myself. And now, almost like some corpse, I return to life out of nowhere to make some 'bots. Why? Who knows. But I'm making stuff, damnit, and I'm about to show off for a bit!
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
Here's Seraphim Reborn. A total upgrade to an old machine, being Seraphim, this reborn model has been heavily updated with most of the stuff I've learnt over the past years, from OBJRA2 to all manner of skinning and stuff, its an upgrade that stays faithful to the original while being just that bit better in every way.
-
Wait, so not only have I managed to make more 'bots in 2021, I've managed to do so in a matter of days? What the hell happened to the old doot and what is going on?
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
This is Acceptable Overkill. A machine built similarly to Deep Six, Acceptable Overkill's weapon is a large vertical flywheel that is powered by the most powerful motor that can be fitted in a 'bot, a 72V 4-Mag. This basically means it hits like a freight train, though stability and explosive tendencies tend to be a bit of a massive problem in RA2. Still, Acceptable Overkill can self-right well enough and has enough force to punt even Super Heavyweights off into the distance.
-
the lil stabilizers are cute af
-
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
...oops.
Yeah, I thought I'd be more active in 2022, but unsurprisingly I ended up getting blindsided by work commitments. Sadly, I ended up forgetting about RA2 and nearly just disappeared. Fortunately, after a parsec session messing around, I got my spark back and made a new 'bot to shake the rust off.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
So anyways, here's Tsunami. The newest iteration of a machine that's nearing 7 years old at this point, it's still the same old world viciousness merged with new world sensibilties, still keeping its lethal angled flywheel while now being updated for the current year, with a new chassis and enhanced skinwork. Here's hoping that's not the only thing I make this year... or in the next year.
-
Loving the texture-work.
I hope it does a good.
-
yo doot thats tight bro
-
SEND CUT SEND
-
Surprise! Yes, I'm still alive and kicking, and shockingly I've come back before the forums have had the chance to bitch at me for posting in my own thread. Though I've been catapulted into full-time apprenticeship work and job stuff, I still had some time to mess about with some ideas in my head. And fortunately for y'all, I've managed to cook something in my head and get it to fruition! Aaaaanyways, here you go.
[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]
This is Voltaic Wraith. A 'bot made through inspiration from a new machine the ORBY team made alongside notes of REALITY in there, Voltaic Wraith's a 4WD hubmotor VS with a negative wedge and ground game, basically like what Beta tried to do but actually somewhat effective this time around. I know not being a weg can hurt in RA2, but I'm just here to cook stuff up and hope for the best. And hey, it looks like it went pretty damn well, all things considered.
Now to scurry into the shadows for 8 more months...
-
very nice as always
