Another update: Made some more modifications on this experimental bot. It's still flawed but I added support for the weapon motor and move some of the inner parts such as batteries around. It still looks a little ugly but it worth a couple of minutes.

Yeah, make a sort of box around the etek, then stick some supports on the other side of the disc like counter revolution.
I did add a box as seen in the images above. But sorry, the counter revolution idea wasn't in my mind. Might make a super-heavy weight out of it though when I have the chance.

If you do a HW, then use a Perm

it looked better without the box tbh

just put some armor on both sides that cover the disc from the front

as redundant and stupid as it sounds, you made the box too... boxy. use ra2cf intersecting components and detailed extender usage to make the box shape small, fitting just around the etek. The front polycarbonate panel on the etek box should be metal (titanium) btw, as that would feel more secure and realistic. Also, in the paint shop, if you have somewhat weaker skinning skills (such as a bland red box), supplement the bland-ish looks by just adding a texture (i usually opt for one of the metal1-5 textures currently, or one of the stock ones from the armour types), then tint it if you want it a specific colour, then add some surface layers (squares, diamondplate etc), then add a few edgelines (i go for dotted rail, then cover it with dirty edge for a darker look because it looks more realistic), and after all that you might want to add a decal or two. It's a fairly simple method of adding detail to your robots that doesn't take too much effort, and cleans the build up overall.

My god is page feels dusty *Cough Cough* I think I have asthma from being here.

I apologise.
After crawling back to the game, I decided to build a new bot based on my last one, with a few changes like perms instead of the E-Tek,even more ****ty wheel guards and a new weapon. The final texture hasn't been made as of yet. But feel free to make a judgement.

You'll pleased to know that this isn't for BOTM, I'm building something else for that.

not bad. i feel the wheelguards are too big and boxy and non-aesthetic, and the chassis itself is a bit bland.

also i think one of the weapons is attached wrong.

I think it'd look better with a wedge that's the same width as the chassis made using the DSL armour plates. You could get the wedge the same colour as the rest of the chassis then, or pick a colour that better compliments the orange than the black Tornado wedge.

he can simply color the chassis black like the tornado wedge.

Realises one of the Typhoon Teeth are backwards:        (Why you may ask?)
Don't worry, I'll fix that straight a way. Also, I be thinking about learning to skin so I can skin the Tornado wedge and hopefully fix the bot.
Edit: Yes Badnik, this isn't you that's seeing this.

Another experimental bot here for Shield's tournament. Originally, this was meant to be a HW DSL-S flipper, but because of the machine being heavily flawed like the over-sized chassis due to the Beta motors. I deleted the Bot and decided to build a new one based on Copy-Cat 3 and Pyrexia 3. Due to my desire being original, I made this:

Also, I know this is the wrong place to ask this: Do anyone of you guys have any advice on how to component skin? I've been thinking about skinning after watching Sage's video on component skinning, but I need a bit of advice on how to do it and how to make the most of it.

Another bulk from me again. This is a beetle weight for Guldenflame's Beetle-Weight tournament. If you can see, I've stacked two ant batteries together, it's hard to see from the picture but when it's in the Bot Exchange, you'll see for yourself. I can't seen to keep this bot stable but anyone have advice or it just me building the wrong bot type for a Beetle-Weight?

I have several opinions.

Thanks for letting know, I didn't realise that Stacking in DSL-S was forbidden, I made a few changes to that.

I didn't realise Razors were trash because I remember seeing the old BBEANS tournarments and Razors were being used. But that was DSL 2.1 and things had changed. So what do you recommend then?

Okay, since no one answered my question. I've made more improvements onto my BeetleWeight. This time without stacked batteries or ***** DSL Razors.
Is this better or worse by any chance?

What's your armor? You've still got 5 good kgs which can do a lot at this size. And have you tested how long 2 ants will last you?

It's Plastic 5 and I don't know how long the battery power lasts. If you want to play around with it, I'll post the link from the Bot Exchange.
