Kid's on a roll

Sherman

Definitely not my best work, but I spent way too long on it to not showcase it.

Sidenote: I feel like almost all the burst pistons in 2.2 are still pretty weak for flippers. Using 2 of what seems to be the third best piston and it can only just get things OOTA.

Looking beautiful, as said above: "clean."
Mostly a lurker and Sm4sh Bros. player nowadays. :3

some are like the setup you have but many actual "upward pokers" are quasi-popups that have a high mounted burst motor with a piston beneath it to get extra impact force.

either he didnt think about it or you basically just have to refine the design you've got then. i don't really know much about them myself.
i'd make your robot a lot wider for starters

first bot isn't an upward poker imo, its a burst motor popup. 2nd bot is a great example though.

Retried the upward poker, it went better. Still not great though.

Hey, I so happen to have been working on a couple similar "upward poker" concepts in between laptop crashes. Its definitely a fun idea but cumbersome in practice to execute, I like your latest interpretation though. That said 6WD seems excessive, especially since i'm guessing it can't self right?

Yeah I'm not really sure how to make it self right. I don't really know what else to use the weight on, hence the 6 wheel drive.

Wedge is too tall, and the side protectors are really not necessary.

Maybe my dsl entry to redace's tournament

Plastic 3, 399.3kg
The normals on the DSL bars are kinda a problem, I'll look at using some different weapons another time.

I think your lack of wedges is a bigger issue, and I don't really think that DSL bars are the optimal choice in this situation =P
