The quest for the best robot possible
« on: August 03, 2014, 07:59:24 AM »
I have been trying to make a robot that can hit for over 1000 damage in one (lucky) hit

No such luck

Does anyone have a bot that can do that?

it's easy. build a popup or a rammer.

and no it doesn't make it the best robot possible.

Have a look at showcases.

Well, the decency of a rammer/popup depends on how you make it

You can make a rammer with a single spike or.... 30 axe heads.

Just saying

It depends on which version of the game you're talking about.

Stock: Popups and rammers are the way to go my friend.

DSL: Use a Dual Perm/MOE motor/6 mag gearbox and have a tribar/disc/DSLbar with hammers on it and it should deliver an average 1500-2000 hitpoints per hit, i've had a bot reach 20,000 hit points on the first hit before.

This thread explains which bots have better potential than others:

But if you don't agree with this list and you feel like building creative bots with variety, then don't listen to me.

Don't build the ultimate fighting machine... Make your robots creative and fun. That'll keep you interested and allow you to enjoy the game more.

There's a bit of a rocks-paper-scissors element to the weapons, so it's impossible to have a definitive "best" robot.

Best robot possible has lightsabers and mini magnets, obviously.

I have a rammer that does damage of that magnitude but it also depends on how often you can deal said damage, because it's no use if you only deal 1000 damage every 30 seconds or so

Guys, the things you are talking about are not particularly noteable. I was hitting 11ks with pokers back in 2008.
