eh im not too sure about fleaweight

i mean its not like theres not enough strictness in aw already, we dont need 25 less kg to play around with and make new designs........

To me fleaweights these days seems like antweights from 5+ years ago, enough for me to work with and i can get moving weapons on them :)

this way you get:

Lightweight classes:                         Heavyweight classes:

Extreme lightweight: FW             Extreme heavyweight: SHW
Lighter Lightweight: AW                Lighter Heavyweight:MW
Light Lightweight: BW                    Light Heavyweight: CW
Normal Lightweight: LW                 Normal Heavyweight:  HW

well.. that is one of the better arguments in this thread.. and kinda makes good sense?

It's more heavy then light IMO, you have plenty of weight to work with. 8 weight classes, 4 light, 4 heavy each with normal, light, lighter and extreme weights.

Yet the MW border is far closer to the LW border than the HW one ?

you have plenty of weight to work with.

You say that because you're an AW/BW/LW builder. I very frequently find myself a few kgs over the 400 kg limit when building middleweights. And of course, I say that because i'm a LW/MW/HW builder.

I dunno, I just feel like fleaweight is pretty much all the same stuff and CW... well maybe that would be worth it. But the word "CRUISERweight" doesn't make any sense in the current weight scale.

I'm only calling it cruiserweight now because of the tournament for them seems to have finalised the name. I always preferred light heavyweight as it's a lighter heavyweight :P

That was more in response to Naryar talking about the name not making sense... Light Heavyweight seems like it'll easily cause confusion

for me it's:

Fleaweight (FLW) = 100kgs
Antweight (AW) = 125 kgs
Beetleweight (BW) = 175 kgs
Featherweight (FW) = 200 kgs
Lightweight (LW) = 249 kgs
Middleweight (MW) = 399 kgs
Cruiserweight (CW) = 600kgs
Heavyweight (HW) = 800 kgs
SuperHeavyweight (SHW) = 1200 kgs
UltraHeavyweight (UHW) = 5000kgs

this way you get:

Lightweight classes:                         Heavyweight classes:

Insane Lightweight: FLW              Insane Heavyweight: UHW
Extreme Lightweight: AW             Extreme Heavyweight: SHW
Lighter Lightweight: BW                Lighter Heavyweight:MW
Light Lightweight: FW                    Light Heavyweight: CW
Normal Lightweight: LW                 Normal Heavyweight:  HW

Changed fleaweight to featherweight instead. We could make fleaweight and UHW "insane" versions of LW/HW too.

I like this format, we could have AI packs for LW and HW only weight classes based on these with at least 5 bots on each team from the different weight classes.

Are there ever any tournaments held for UHW robots? Seems like it would be an interesting class considering the amount of crap you could put on a robot with that weight allotment.
The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated.

Somebody did one a few years back, he was planning a second but I have no clue what happened to it.

Is there an inherent difficulty associated with the UHW class that I'm not aware of? (Other than the challenge of putting 5,000kg worth of stuff on a robot.)

Not really, but you wouldn't want to do it in stock.
You got my vote for RA2 Wizard. Always and forever.

Yeah that just sounds like a nightmare waiting to happen. Just wondering since I've been tinkering with large-scale [joke]bots in DSL lately and was reading about them on the Wiki
