so are we okay with making the weightclasses even numbers
« on: December 24, 2016, 12:39:17 AM »
was wondering about this. are we okay with having LW be up to 250 and MW 400 (or 249.9 or 399.9 idk)? unofficial weighclasses we make are always on the even numbers [125, 175, 600], and Ironforge does its own version. nobody complains about those.
i know it might be a bit confusing for new players but i doubt its any more confusing than how skitzo the weightclasses are anyway, especially if sometimes 399 can read as MW or HW  :dumb)

i've never had too much of an opinion on this and wanted to see where people stand. i dont think ive seen a discussion on it before either which surprises me a bit

You can't exactly do much with the extra weight.

That's not the point, it's more of a standardization thing. 125-175-249-399-600-800 looks silly.

If the game says middle, it's middle. If it says heavy, it's not middle. That's my ethos.

unless its 399 which can be middle or heavy so

the game only has those weird class limits because of shoddy coding anyway and it seems a bit off imo that LW and MW are the only two that are different

im pretty sure its only like that because of some more unseen decimals from the chassis weight

i dont see why we need to change it, its not like itll be a gamechanger

Standardization? We can build bots without batteries because of servos.

That has nothing to do with standardisation

I'll agree with that. No need to standardize weightclasses because it will actually create more confusion, even if it removes some.

By create more confusion it says "but the game says HW, why would it be middleweight".

There is already enough newbies confusing Ironforge weightclasses.

Newbs need to get on with RA2's quirks too.

Pretty much just agree with craaig like most people here, Let the game decide.
Besides, getting a 248.9 lw or etc is so satisfying.

Yeah I'm 99% sure that's because of unseen decimals in stuff like bot chassis weight calculation.
Naryar backs up my view quite eloquently so no need to add more on my part :P

I always test my chassis with ballasts to find out if it can hold that extra kg or not. Usually just easier to make it a little smaller and bring it down to .9.
You got my vote for RA2 Wizard. Always and forever.
