Prototype Octagon arena?
« on: December 22, 2010, 05:22:04 AM »
I just found this picture in my RA2 UI

I also found sample bot but it was only a picture of what the "No robot preview" could have looked like.

A few pics in the UI are unused, same for some sounds.

Probabley was an idea for the redbirds. Maybe Infogrames had to quickly release it, not giving the creators enough time to finish some parts (Like the 140cm extender)

*Goes to make high-powered redbird*

I saw some of these but thought that people already knew about them.

Yep, that seems the popular theory.

Still, if this game was unfinished, imagine what it might be like if it had been properly finnished  :gawe:

I think it was DSL that properly finished it.

those first 2 images are crash preventions

the arena one is the default image that will show if no arenas are loaded into the game (in other words, delete the contents of your arena folder and it will show) notice it has Saws in that picture too..

the no robot preview is used for those that dont have preview pictures taken and loaded into exhibition if I am not mistaken

finally that component was most likely one that was never exported from 3DSM (since is a 3DSM screenshot)

I know, I like it better too.
Here's something els I just found, I imagine this was another unfinished thing but then it was finished in DSL as this file has been replaced with the "custom free style" mode button, i'm sure somebody with more knowledge will spread some light on it soon for me...

Well there's a demo on here for download, never looked at it actually, but I may download it in a sec.

And I wouldn't bother contacting them, by the sounds of things they can't be arsed to capitalize on their only succesfull game
