Title: ghetto testing pt 2: gutripper weapons

did some testing on how equal the current teeth limits are

for reference, the test bot has double strength steel 10 as i didn't want fights lasting 15 seconds, motors are two perms.

as always, this isn't a 100% realistic representation. your results may vary based on your motor choice, weapon setup, total spinning mass, if you've installed the AS' """"balance"""" patch, and if you're TOXIC like hoppin

conclusion: i think 4 large/6 small is fairly balanced as 4 larges have more total hp, but 6 smalls have maybe up to around 10% higher dps. 8 smalls would definitely be pushing it.

8 beaters still doesn't match the damage output of typhoons even when patched. that being said i don't think they're a completely non-viable choice. 8 beaters have 20000 hp vs the 16000/12000 of typhoons, and from my testing are pretty effective at de-weaponing them (assuming you don't lose your disk/drum setup). also most hosts will probably let you spam more than 8 since they aren't toxic typhoons and that's all people really care about tbh

micros should probably be regulated on the same level as 4 larges/6 smalls. they are technically less dps, but the difference is very small and each disk only weighs 35kgs while also having 7000 hp. they did have a tendency to jam due to my test cage and their large size, but i don't think the impact is that severe on the results, and i don't think that theyd be faster than 6 smalls

idk what's going on with ripping teeth. i know my disk setup probably isn't optimal but still, they have a really sh** collsion mesh/normals

there's a few other components that might be worth checking (the heavy ds tooth, minion disk, cutting teeth

two more weapons that prove that shape/collision mesh matters just as much as stats

8 heavy ds teeth (12kgs, 620dp)

8 antblades (469 dp, 5 frequency)
15 seconds. almost half the time of 6 smalls. pretty sure click forgot to nerf the frequency from 2.1. fun fact: these were the original 'meta' weapon for dsl-s when 2.2 was released

2 146cm saws (516dp, 2 frequency)
74 seconds. slower than 2 minivores despite having more dp, probably due to a lack of teeth

4 tornado weapons (408 dp)
122 seconds. trash weapons made obsolete by the beater buff

2 dreadnought disks (528dp, 5 frequency)
53 seconds. horrible collision mesh, really wastes the 5 frequency (although it would be beyond broke if it had a decent one)


2 mini-minion disks (492dp, no frequency)
96 seconds. turns out none of the minion disks have frequency

not really happy with the test setup as there are way too many variables involved since i can't just spawn the test bot on top of the weapons but w/e

obviously actual results may vary based on your motor/weapon setup

so slightly faster than the gutripper tests. this being said, i'm not really to against hs having a higher tooth cap. gutripping is a far better meth of dealing damage as it's far harder to protect against, and it essentially takes your opponents ability to fight away.

also keep in mind this test was done with a 150kg six mag. a weaker motor would give a slower time, and HS do not benefit as much from the 11kg flatmotor. it's not hard to get strong armor, fast drive, and 4/6 typhoons on a flat motor vs

in regards to ow4's 2/4 i wouldn't even bother with typhoons. dual micros have near 4/6 dps, and 8+ beaters have 2.5x the hp at nearly the same ttk
