...big flywheels with small wheels. Basically, I want to see less robots like the ones you see in the usual robot showcases.
ITT inf syndrome "im not appreciated enough for what ive done"
1-7
A note to ian: The appreciation for antweights is fairly low. The matches are unfortunately boring and hardly destructive. While, I do love the challenge of building something small. The excitement of watching it battle is non-existent. I do appreciate that you like them so much, but I just don't see a lot of support from the community in that direction. AI packs are a different monster really. A lot of members here are interested in tournaments... and we use AI packs that test our bots in preparation for tournaments. "Benchmark" AI packs are going to get a lot of support. Inf AI, Starcore, NarAI, etc etc. are very helpful in a sense for testing. "Entertainment" AI packs aren't going to get much support or excitement because usually the player will try it out and then forget about it mostly. To a degree DSL actually falls in this category. It is the foundation, but a dated proving ground. (some might argue that it wasn't a very good proving ground initially)In closure, I am surprised the community is still active for a (almost) 10 year old game. Given the age of the game, I am happy it has the support that it does have. <3
You got my vote for RA2 Wizard. Always and forever.
I'm terrible at bot building.

3. Where do you spend most of your time on the forum? The server error page :/
Stock was fun until we finally had to put a limitation on in-game glitches (hax mode).
Quote from: Sage on October 27, 2012, 08:52:44 PMStock was fun until we finally had to put a limitation on in-game glitches (hax mode). It is really unfortunate that happened really. From my perspective, since the unveiling of hax mode. The veterans that embraced it have lost interest in the community because it is not allowed in tournaments. Yet, tournament hosts don't want such an unbalanced playing field. So they disallow hax mode to make a tournament more inviting to new/unskilled builders. It makes tournaments more inviting and fun, but alienates the elite builders that take things to the next level. It's actually kinda fascinating how delicate the balance is (and continues to be). Honestly, I would love a hax mode centric tournament that got entries from Sage, Scrap, Robo, Psyc, Inf, etc etc. (Plus current awesome stock builders)
Some questions:1. What do you want to see more of?2. Why don't you comment much? (ignore if you do).3. Where do you spend most of your time on the forum?4. Do you watch tournament videos that don't feature your own bot?5. Why don't you enter BOTM?6. How many AI packs do you have?7. Do you play stock, DSL or both?8. What have you given to the community?

Also you are building AW stock AI pack and an "I DON"T ACCEPT NEW BOT" pack.... Like just maybe they are not the most interesting thing in the universe...
