How do you have the patience to build something like this?
The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated.

I wanted to see how far I could go with it, tbh. Patience wasn't really a factor because it took little to no effort to do anything when making the bot.

  • With that number of saws, I would think you were going for an impervious design. If this is the case, your sides front and rear are wide open.
  • Any invertibility? As a builder hint, ball casters can do wonders for cheap invertibility, although it is a bit unfair in some cases.
  • If you're going to stack items, stack your batteries. It's easier to keep your weight balanced/symmetrical.
  • I would advise against using that many of those circular weapon mounts. Stacking those means that your weapon has more mass and the motor will take longer to spin up.
  • Your bot seems defenseless against overhead attacks. I recommend hiding your weapon mounting bits behind some sort of armor. A couple of good hits or arena hazards could take out your circular mounting pieces. once any of those are destroyed, you weapon is nullified.
  • Are those sliding mounting points on the rear flag array? They are pretty useless since you cannot restrict how far the attached item slides.
  • If you were going for a "tank tread" setup with those wheels, cool! If not, you should probably reduce the number of wheels since it is hard to align properly for easy control and will probably decrease your framerate if you use the bot.
  • It looks like it was a b**** to get everything aligned well enough. I commend you for sticking with it.
  • If you are looking to create combat capable bots in the future, practicing against the AI will give you some insight on how you can improve certain parts of your bot. Sometimes, it's easier to test out your frame and drive system before attaching weapons and armor. Sometimes, it's better to attach your weapon first because it might bug out the whole bot.

haha it's just that the bot looks like someone went crazy with hax mode and bfe when building it, except you can do this in ra3 with relative ease because the game seems to have no collision detection for components in the bot lab.

Look at the second image, you can see three (of the four) wheels. They don't matter because the force of the spinners move it, anyway :P

My first bot in RA3, The Nan Man. This truly displays the brilliant chassis system.
