Title: Redstonize's Custom Showcase
Post by: Redstonize on January 27, 2013, 02:25:41 PM
Greetings everybody.
Let's get to the point: This place is my showcase.
There is nothing more to say about that... I will simply upload bots that I will create and get you the link to the botXchange, the name of components mods needed and description.

Robotics team name: DMDesign corporation.
-----------------------------------------------
First bot of all: [Plow Sumo]
Link: https://gametechmods.com/Robot_Exchange/Custom/Redstonize_Plow%20Sumo2.zip (https://gametechmods.com/Robot_Exchange/Custom/Redstonize_Plow%20Sumo2.zip)
Notes:
A huge Bot with two terrorizing front monster wheels positioned so nothing can pass under the bot. Its two rear wheels are extended to let the robot stable. It has also side protecting snow plows to prevent small bots to destroy the extenders. Minus point: its so huge its hard to keep on the track and sometimes you just cant turn around. You will need "Firebeetle's Component Pack V5 and V6"

hm, most of the time a custom showcase isnt the first thing you see out of a new member.

for a showcase its recommended that you take a picture of your bot and post it here, instead of posting a download link to it, that makes it easier to give feedback for it.

Bot name: [Red Baron]
Link: https://gametechmods.com/Robot_Exchange/Custom/Redstonize_Red%20Baron2.zip (https://gametechmods.com/Robot_Exchange/Custom/Redstonize_Red%20Baron2.zip)
Notes:
Another Monster-truck like bot. This time it is equipped with firebeetle's heavy laser gun, wich is positionned some way so you can easily aim bots to shoot em before to pass on them. Need Firebeetle's components mod V5.

It would be nice if there was a keyboard shortcut for taking in-game screens.

Bot name: [DangeRouS WeapoN]
Link: https://gametechmods.com/Robot_Exchange/Custom/Redstonize_DangeRouS%20WeapoN2.zip (https://gametechmods.com/Robot_Exchange/Custom/Redstonize_DangeRouS%20WeapoN2.zip)
Notes:
A low-floating hovercraft bot that can accelerate at good speeds to faint the slow, primitive robots. Inside of it is mounted a small version of Firebeetle's laser gun. It is mediumweight, so you can defeat most of this class bots whitout too much difficulty.

Bot name: [Acid Buggy]
Link: https://gametechmods.com/Robot_Exchange/Custom/Redstonize_Acid%20Buggy2.zip (https://gametechmods.com/Robot_Exchange/Custom/Redstonize_Acid%20Buggy2.zip)
Notes:
As it's name says, this bot's wheels are fixed on exterior extenders to let it have more handling and speed. You can even ram other robots with these wheels, but dont push the pedal too far because they are relatively weak. The main weapon of the robot is a six-pack of firebeetle zephir pistons acid-pointed to deliver a HUGE punch to your opposing bot. As secondary level, you got a nice little horizontal sawmill under you to prevent your ennemy to lift you. Sorry for this one's skin. I got a problem with it and it messed up by mixing itself with other skins, so it looks wierd.

As Mr Awesumsauce said, when in game, press F11, and the screenshots appear in a screenshots folder in the installation.

Interesting ideas, you seem quite strong already but https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php/board,90.0.html (https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php/board,90.0.html) is the link I recommend to anyone new here. If you read everything you will be good to go. I couldn't add your bot to my lab I think you need to include components if you do it this way. Looks good from the picture though. Welcome!

Stop posting zip links to your bots without a picture. Else no one is going to give you advice.

If F11 is too difficult:

Find the key print screen, shortened "prt scr" on your keyboard. Test the key then open Paint, go to Edit/Paste then crop your picture showing only the bot and not the entire botlab

I updated the Urls a bit
Each bot that I will upload (and those I already uploaded) now haves a .TXT file inside, with the required component mod's names inside and the place you can find them. YES I have the pictures, but I just cant upload them. (Im not that stupid, domanating, I know how to press a keyboard button, do you?)
Seems to be a problem with my low-speed internet connection. Prehaps if I find a way to reduce thier size without reducing thier quality too much. I will post them as fast as possible when I resolve this.

Bot name: [Head Chopper]
Link: https://gametechmods.com/Robot_Exchange/Custom/Redstonize_Head%20chopper.zip (https://gametechmods.com/Robot_Exchange/Custom/Redstonize_Head%20chopper.zip)
Notes:
A heavy spinner bot with hammers as weapon and solid defences. I think its not very much overkilling enough, I dont think I will touch it anymore since working on this tired me enough.

Bot name: [Bot Murderer]
Link: https://gametechmods.com/Robot_Exchange/Custom/Redstonize_Bot%20massacrer.zip (https://gametechmods.com/Robot_Exchange/Custom/Redstonize_Bot%20massacrer.zip)
Notes:
A double-Hammer bot with a good over-weight (1400Kg)to keep it from bouncing when his 6 battle-axes falls on its ennemy. Each hammer head is made with 3 battles axes put together and a surplus 30Kg just to crush AND to punch the opponent's Top. I cant kill a standart Steel bot in less than 5 succesfull hits. Also haves a very restistant bumber to leave the other bot in FRONT of your weapon.

Bot name: [Steel Creature]
Link: https://gametechmods.com/Robot_Exchange/Custom/Redstonize_Steel%20Creature.zip (https://gametechmods.com/Robot_Exchange/Custom/Redstonize_Steel%20Creature.zip)
Notes:
A entirely steelplates-reinforced bot, wich provides overprotecting and wich is equipped with 4 zephir pistons, that can make very big holes in your opponnent. Its spikes is acid-made, so It adds a 500 pts bonus hit. It can overkill his ennemy in less than 3-4 succesfull hits. Even his front steel plates are weapons: They are attached to standart pistons, just to push you oppennent away while your pistons are re-armed. It can even get your oppenent stuck in it and then you can hit him with you primary pistons.

Convert the pictures from BMP files to JPEGs or PNGs, then you should be able to add them to your posts with the "add image to post" function.

Convert them to PNGs, you dont get any of that cloudy stuff (forget what it's called) around your pic for when you try to crop it or anything.

F11 is the screenshot key in RA2 btw
It saves them in the screenshots folder

If his internet really has an issue JPEGs would be a better choice.
