How long have you been lurking?

I found this site back when a guy (I think he was called Wham) was making a Robot Wars Mod, so a good while. I haven't had any time to play RA2 in years but checked back here every now and then. Time off work and Component Freedom have gotten me back into it!

That'll be 2013 or so then. A good four years of lurking has worked wonders, this is probably the best work DSL 2.2 has seen.

Obviously (me being the dumbass I am), you mean WhamettNuht, right? He was known to be the starter of the RW Mod. However, he has been inactive for a year and more than a month (which obviously means you've been lurking for a long, LONG while).

Haha thank you for all the kind comments guys! To tell you the truth Nightmare has been... well a complete Nightmare to get working properly. Because of the build size limit I could only build the disc on the half side that was facing the rear of the bot, which meant spinning the disc when ever I needed to build around the other half. And then of course it kept melting on me as soon as I went to save it (effectively ruining everything I'd worked on and putting me back to square one).

- I've been using Lockjaw to take out my frustrations.

Hopefully I'll be able to finally finish Nightmare soon...

Yeah that's the guy! I think it must have been a few years ago now.

If you select the attachment point on the back of the 10cm square extender (instead of the default) then it'll stop it from melting when you make big chains.

Interesting, thanks Kurt I'll have to give that a try next time I feel like sorting Nightmare out!

In the mean time I'm prototyping a new batch!

- Wrecks & Overdrive 2.0

- Overdrive 2.0, Ringmaster & Wrecks

I actually built Overdrive around the same time as Chomp/Brutus but didn't/still don't feel it's on par with the other replicas I'd made.

Strangely enough, The Ringmaster is currently the title holder of my test replica mini-league winning all 7 of it's matches by KO.

Wrecks OOTA'd itself in the first round.
I love Wrecks <3

How do you crank these out so quickly and with such consistently amazing quality? Bloody ridiculous.

It can walk backwards very well... forwards on the other hand is proving to be a problem for Wrecks. Unless it lands on its disc of course, in which case, forwards suddenly becomes the only thing Wrecks can do.

I think your Ringmaster would look better with a chassis skin rather than an extender chassis. The rest of it looks spot on.

Yeah it might be a good idea, the issue is it creates a massive weak spot on the top. I'll have a play around and try to neaten it up a bit and failing that I'll remove the top lid and skin the chassis like you suggested.

Minor Update;
Rebuilt Tombstone with a marginally taller chassis as the previous version looked a little flat. And since a small height change wouldn't really be worth a whole post for, here's an alternate Tombstone with the blue bar.

EDIT: I didn't want to be that guy that double posts so I hope you don't mind an edited post!

Massive shout out to Kurt for his amazingly helpful suggestion to get around the melting Nightmare issue;

- Nightmare MK5

This is as neat as I can get the disc without causing said melting problem, I also really wanted to make the wheel guards the reboot Season 1 version had but the bot size limit forbids it, this will have to be the final version I'm afraid!

Nice Gravity rep! Really good use of the polycarb panels!

I completely stripped my Witch Doctor Rep apart as it didn't look right at all and decided to shape it more like the Season 2 version and this is how it looks currently;

- Witch Doctor (Season 2)

Still need to get the skeleton hands on the wedge but I'm definitely happier with it so far!
