Nice job on that one Somebody but they would look better with skins.

RS: dayum! nice job on toro.

Sage: nice but you must teach me how to skin discs....

Parprika: I think thats a good idea especially with so many people making replicas now but most replicas are pretty crappy fighters.

Here is my newly built replica Crashius Clay.

I would be very happy if someone would tell me where to find a tutorial to skinning bot, because I have no idea how.

ill make one right here.

How to Skin Robots:

go to paintshop IN-GAME. click the "export" button. type the name of your bot. click ok. close the game. go to the main Robot Arena 2 folder. click on the folder that says custom textures. find your bot's name. open with favorite photo edit software. it will be a red square with green shapes. the shapes represent the sides, top, and bottom of your bot. when finished, save as _______.bmp. go in game. click "import" in the paintshop. find your bot's name. should work.

I am such a noob at this, because I understand what you are saying, but I can't figure out three things:
1. Do I have to draw all of the skins by hand on the computer
2. Both of my photo softwares only have editing things such as crop, red eye, etc. They don't have anything that you could draw with
3.Is there a way I could get the images to copy-paste into it, because I am the worst drawer ever.

That should work, as you can draw in it and copy and paste into it.

But do I have to draw all of the skins by hand in paint?

Edit: When I said copy-paste, I meant that I was wondering if there was a place online to get the templates for the bots to download them to the game.

Unless somebody in the world made a bot with the same exact size chassis, that won't work. Yes, you must "draw" it yourself.

Then you probably will not see any replicas with skins from me, because I am the worst drawer in the world.

Flting_Chao:Thanks anyway though, because now I might be able to do other skins, such as words or cool designs.

i have never drawn anything when skinning bots. no replica would need to be "drawn" on. its all copy/paste with pictures.

But how do you get the logos on if you can't find a picture of it in the exact right angle?  I draw all my skins by hand, with a few exceptions, of course.

Practice makes perfect.  I have been playing this game for over 2 years now, and my early designs were terrible in both design and skin.  Most of what you see is my recent work, but there's a stash of my early designs that I did before I  had much experience.  If you want to get better at skinning, I suggest you start by building and skinning your own replica of Panic Attack.  It's a good, challenging design and one of the first custom skins I did.

find the logo seperatly. if you cant do that, then you must draw by hand.

I pull all of my logos off of angled bot pictures and flatten them before putting them on the skin.  I can only do it with photoshop though. If anyone wants a step-by-step rundown on how to do this. I will only take the time to do a writeup if other people are using photoshop as well.  My version of Photoshop is ancient, but the steps are essentially the same.  (i think)

A short and concise write up would be very helpful, JD.  If you've got a little time...
Input is appreciated. :)
