Very nice. Think you could muck around with it so you can get the lighting issue fixed? Other than that it's awesome.

Will some one make some more Battlebots replicas?

...

Oh wait, I CAN!

It would REALLY help if somebody could help me skin, it would DEFINATELY make my replicas better.

You should post pictures of the original alongside, unless you really hate how they look side by side.  Circuit Breaker looks pretty cool.

I'm a big advocate of "teach a man to fish," you shouldn't make a habit out of asking people to do stuff for you.  Here's the 101 on good skinning:

-Don't use decals except as marking tools.  They look like crap and they're a pain to place.
-Don't use edge lines either, they just highlight the imperfections in your chassis shape.
-Before you begin the actual drawing, resize the bmp by 4x.  You get a significantly better, sharper, more-detailed skin out of it.
-Use paint.net and tons of separate layers.  Don't flatten it until you absolutely have to.
-Don't copy the entire skin from a photo of the robot.  A logo or complex picture is ok, but not the whole thing.  It's cheating and more importantly, just highlights the imperfections.

With the exception of Scrap Metal and maybe Das Bot, I feel like all of these replicas have been done better by other people, no offense.

I'm reminded now that no one's skinned the Vlad wedge for a Maximus replica. Food for thought...

Also, I wonder how Das Bot would look with DSL3 extenders and the Lexan plates in DSL3...

No offense taken, and as for DSL 3, I'll give it a try next time.
I'll try to learn skinning by myself, but remember, all I have is MS paint, so it MAY not happen.
Also, any more suggestions for BattleBots replicas?
There's not enough of those here. :frown:

Get Paint.net then :L It is not as good as photoshop but it is the best free alternative with plugins.

I'll try, AFTER I can find a tutorial on how to import MS Paint pictures into textures that has pictures in it.
AND custom components. Or, how to make duplicates and have those ones textured differently.
I'm a visual learner.
Edit: I'll take your advice Ressetti.

I dont quite know what you mean by that but I highly recommend you learn paint.net - infinite undo's and having multiple pics open at once makes the task a lot easier.

Here's my first DSL 3 replica, Matilda, since the original one didn't look as accurate:

And the back:

Hope you all like it, it took me FOREVER to design. :dead:

Tiny bit messy but very good for a job without custom parts. Love the chainsaw.
