Yeah the spike plates are from an old component pack. Forget which one, I think it might be the ][cer pack.

Actually they're DSL 3 extenders painted with a woodgrain texture.  It's great how they have attachemnt points on all four sides.

Inshredable.  I finally got a handle on 123's BFE tutorial, and I can make perfectly triangular wedges at last!  The downside is that the textures get stretched out, which was a real pain here, but I'll get used to it eventually.  In building this bot, I got a real appreciation for what the team were trying to do; a good shock-resistant frame holding up the disc is more important than it looks

Fantastic.

This'll surely open up possibilities of new replicas with 'perfect wedges' as well then.

Cyclone Raptor.  It probably can't OOTA, I had to make the disc fairly slow to keep it stable.

Revisiting Replica-Refining a little, I had a little go with what is, in my opinion, one of the machines in DSL2 that was in most dire need of fixing up.

Here's Razer, as it was in RW Extreme 1 and onwards. As you can see with the half-arsed skin, I didn't really focus on the looks, but I do feel I've massively improved how it functions, so it's much more in-line with the real thing. Proportional changes include making it generally smaller- but in particular, shorter, wider, and a more encompassing wedge to replicate the scoop it had later on. Plus, instead of those fake wheels on the outside, it now runs with real ones outside, complete with basic wheelguards.

On the inside, you can see that the Crushing Ram is now powered by a Servo rather than a Burst Motor, allowing it to effectively grapple onto some opponents, and deal more damage- if it could utilise something like the claw from DSL3 with the sawblade-like normals, and a similarly-powered motor that has a limited trajectory, it should be quite a lethal weapon.
I'm particularly pleased with the drive, though- I used powerful motors at the front and weaker ones at the back so that it has a similar level of agility to the real thing. It works, too- it's very quick at swinging around as it turns.

Along with the more realistic proportions and functions, I'd say it's definitely improved in terms of both functioning realism and how it fights. Thanks to the claw and wing configuration, it can now self-right much more realistically by flipping itself back over from its side rather than somersaulting over from its back, and as shown above, can even perform the infamous "Salute" by spinning on the spot and raising its claw from behind to lift its own body off the ground.

And to conclude, here's this silly "Arty" shot of it in the Octagon. Overall, I'm rather pleased with it- thoughts?
