This should really be in a Custom Showcase, just saying. ;)
Agree.  At this point it has hardly anything DSL on it.

This issue already surfaced in page 38 but people said nobody cared about it and nobody said otherwise. Apparently some do.
I'll get a Custom Showcase up as soon as I can then.

If you want one of us to split this thread at a certain point and move the 2nd part to Custom, just jot down where you'd want it split from and I sure someone will get to it :P

Sweet! I first thought on transferring only Devourer Deluxe to the Custom Showcase but if that's possible, the idea was to split the showcase starting here...
https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?topic=9561.msg613304#msg613304
...all the way to the last post.
That's when I started using a mix of DSL+IronForge components.
I'll then make the necessary adjustments to the first post.

Well you see.  back in January it was just some random component I send you that nobody else has.  Now Ironforge is an completed mod with it's own showcase.

So naturally I take the distinction between my mod and DSL a bit more seriously.

Got it.
Speaking of which btw, I like your mod and all but those 10cm non cubic extenders make me cringe. DSL3 extenders are a lot easier to work with, imo

Yeah we have different priority in what we want to build.

The minor differences help get things to just fit in a light, competitive design.  It isn't as good for pretty looking stuff that requires the length/width to to use the same fixed dimension.

I do have a set of extenders with width at exactly 10cm.  I choose to include the current version because I found more use for them.

Nice, m8! Thanks a lot!
I did some minor changes on the files so I could have all the extenders available instead of replacing them, in case I need to build a 100% IronForge bot.
Changed the preview, though the color is still the same.

Btw, Thanks to whoever split my showcase.

I think I wasted too much time on details with this one.

Almost like the very first bot I showcased here, this one uses burst motors to open wide and grab the opponents and keep them in place. The vertical saw is servo controlled and has a "resting position" (pic3) from which it can detach and reach the opponent if necessary. On the back there are 2 burst motors that combined with the vertical saw can help on self-righting

Big bots like these require on average 3/4 hours to build. The extender work and armor placement is what consumes most of the time.
There are some cases where everything seems to fit perfectly and those bots are finished in 2 hours and maybe a lot less depending on the complexity.
On the other hand, I have those cases where everything goes wrong and you have to rebuild rebuild rebuild. Devourer Deluxe holds the record for 6+ hours spent building that thing...

I don't know why but I really like complex stuff with a lot of controls. Looks awesome

It's a perk you get for being a patient introvert :P
But I'm focused for longer because I enjoy what I'm doing. If I'm attending a lecture of some sorts I'll probably drift away in less than 10 minutes.
I also play the Starbound soundtrack whenever I go build something. The awesome music prevents me from getting frustrated. Best idea I've had in a while.
