Well actually, when the urge hits me it doesn't take all that long. A couple hours for the perm, and the geared motor even less

I like Darkrat's CAD better than the bike. They were building on it last night on the show (rerun) but I don't like to watch it, because it is 90% them talking sh** like they are badass and 10% about the build (like I would be interested in)

In theory, it's a heavyweight rammer with a top speed of 16mph and the ability to strafe on it's hilariously overcomplicated track system.

Rhino 3d, btw.

Omniwheels strung into a tread?  Yeah, that would be complicated.  I assume you're not going to actually try and make that bot.

Nice cad by the way.

I might make it if I ever end up with too much money and free time.

After all, it's only 4 s128-150 magmotors and 8 24v battlepacks to power the thing!

Thanks DinoV

Isn't that bot going to be going quite slowly now? Because you have gearings from smaller -> bigger and that bigger is connected again to smaller and from there to bigger.

That means you really need extremely fast motor to make your bot move on rather good speed but at least it has a lot torque now.    Though I doubt wheels won't have enough grip for that torque.

Edit: But if you are going to use tracks instead of those wheels there I think the grip will be increased greatly.

PS. Very nice pictures. Those look so nice.    :D

Looks like it will be fast to me...drive needs to be at least 40:1 because electric motors work more efficiently at higher speeds.

the setup in that bot is 4 18v mini-ev's through an innitual 5.3:1 reduction, giving them an output speed just over that of an ev-warrior at 24v(near 5100rpm) then an additional 3.5:1 to achieve a final top speed of 17.5mph which it can reach in an estimated 1.75 seconds.
