Here's a little thing I did one day- my first attempt at building Robots in Maya!

In particular, this one was a prototype version of Dreadnought Mk 2, my ARC HW for FRR: No Mercy. Aspects such as the sleeker chassis and bigger flipper (Not to mention the bolts!) are there that would appear on the Final Version, but there were some things that I changed later as well, such as the more exposed rear wheels and the Spike on the back- that last detail was carried over from the original, but I later removed it due to it deducting too much power from the Flipper.

Although I do have a bit of experience with the Software from my University course, the reason I don't primarily use it for rendering robots at the moment is due to the difficulty with applying custom textures and stuff to objects. Once I get more of a handle on that though, I may revisit it for the purpose of rendering my own designs. For now though, enjoy.

Hey, you can render now! Cool!

Gotta say Dreadnaught looks very cool in 3D.

Yup. Something I've recently been better able to do, you could say- once I've cracked applying the textures and stuff, I should be able to fully render robots on my own.  :P

Glad you think it looks cool, as well. Took a bit of doing to get the shape of the Chassis and the Flipper right in particular, but I'm pretty pleased with the results. I'll keep on practicing and see what else I can come up with.

EDIT: Some updated views, with a wedge plate and the weapons retracted.

Looks like someone strapped a chopstick to a stick of butter, bar needs to be thicker and the design is pretty boring IMO, not bad for a first try though.

Another possible ARC competitor? Good to hear, hope you can make it.

As for the design- not bad for a first go, but try making the bar a bit thicker and lower down, so it's easier to hit opponents with. You should also try to include a srimech if you can- they're very good things to have.

the drum/block thing seems really small and won't damage much.

It wont self right with the drum IMO. Theres not enough torque. However, it would be better if you could find a way for it to be invertible, so the drum doesnt get nerfed.

On that note, here's one I made.

This is Die Oxide. I'm not sure of which weight class to use it in at the moment (Maybe LW?), but it's a 2WD Rear-Hinged Flipper based on designs like Tsunami and Barbaric Response. However, I designed it with improved spinner resistance from features such as angled armour plating and a protective panel underneath the front of the Flipper, as well as improved self-righting. It's designed to put itself back over with even the minimum amount of CO2 using the rollbars on the back, making it versatile.

Its main feature however, is the massive Flipper on the front. Running on High Pressure CO2 and driven by two enormous gas rams, it's a weapon well-suited to chucking opponents forward and up for maximum efficiency (And OOTAing potential in Arenas that have it.), and will be complemented by high-powered drive to ensure it's both fast and powerful. Thoughts?

So after Badnik made me realized that the current design of Golden Blaze had no chance in FRR s'HW division
Here is the design i came up with

Golden Blaze is a classic Tornado Mer design with a quite massive S7 tool steel blade, and in case it gets overturned, Gyroscopic effect will make it self-right the same way as the real one (for an example of this there is the Redrum vs Tornado Mer fight on youtube)

Sounds quite generic, right?

Now here is the fun part the bot as actually acting as a Melty brain Sit-n-spinner and you guys maybe noticed the tooth at the sides of the circular chassis, this plus the quite fast spinning speed of the bot makes it can do quite a lot of damage; not to mention that it gives another mean of offense if the blade break down in battle, so yeah the blade already cause a nice amount of the damage to wedges, but the spinning motion of th chassis can knock them away while they are trying to get under, this is especially useful on bots too flat for the blade to reach them.

So yeah: DIE WEDGES DIE!!!

Yeah I'm not quite sure how the melty brain will work, but if you stat it the right way I could see it doing well.
