just curious but why do you need left and right? aren't you just going to build one side and basically symmetry it?Not really applicable with Sir Killalot, though.
He could just make the drill separably and put it on instead of a second claw.just curious but why do you need left and right? aren't you just going to build one side and basically symmetry it?Not really applicable with Sir Killalot, though.

Funny you make a post about this :P ive already started making the house robots hehe, Ive made matilda and refbot and currently making growler currently got his head doneYeah! I saw on YouTube :) Although I started my WIP of the house robots back in 2010
*looks at the date* ......well played :PDoesn't really matter when I started... your models dalek puts mine to shame... X(
awwww everyone has their models ^_^I know... but your Growler head was awesome.
Round out her buttocks a bit more.itt: date night with avalanche
Now that is something you dont get to say often.
Round out her buttocks a bit more.I actually thought the same! Mind reader alert XD
Now that is something you dont get to say often.
The extreme development hell and the apparent lack of interest from anyone else rather remind me of a lot of my own projects.I'll have to agree on that one. I've pretty much given up hope on getting plans for the new house robots... so I think I'm sticking playing the older games and focusing on the older series instead, as those are my favorite wars (1-4).
Robot Wars did reply, although they said the plans for the house robots were highly classified...
Right now it seems I got two alternatives. Either wait for the new house robots to come out as toys, or simply stick with the legacy wars...Robot Wars did reply, although they said the plans for the house robots were highly classified...
Bloody hell, that took a while. It doesn't surprise me though.
What are you gonna do with her, after she's done?Umm... good question... I was thinking... maybe for Robot Arena 2 or 3? Who knows... maybe I'll keep them secret to myself XD I don't know...
Well if you skin them.. you can export as obj file, and port it into RA2I'll think about it... maybe, maybe not. It depends on how much detail I want to add to them. I want them to look as realistic as possible. I underlined possible because I am by no means a veteran in Blender. But I've used it since 2015-2016.
Apanx created an app that converts obj designs into bot files
If you're able to export these to OBJ, I could see about porting this to RA2.I will certainly consider this... but I will most definitely get them done first.
The wheels are added, and the horns are adjusted! Although I have no build plans... it requires a LOT of guesswork... the thing she's standing on is a pallet, with real scale. Now that is looking real nice! There's still a long way to go with the Matilda model, but do keep up the good work.

Her rear rounded out a bit more.(http://news.bbc.co.uk/olmedia/1775000/images/_1777330_pearce300.jpg)
Round out her buttocks a bit more.I thought that was what he meant
The details (horns etc.) should be able to shed some of their faces. There's way too many.Whoa... you opened my eyes a bit there! That's partly why I am posting my progress here: to get feedback
Still looking good.I will hopefully take care of them today, but does it still look as bad close-up to you? I think it looks ok, because I would need that detail to give way for those craters around the lower parts of the horns. The horns themselves looks like this on close-up. Of course anything wouldn't look as detailed if you zoom in far enough, but does it look better now? I may have zoomed out too much before
How are those faces doing?
To be fair with you, it does. I'm fairly sure those small decals can still be made with less faces but look identical.I forgot to mention, I do not plan to add them to any game so far, we'll see about that...

Yeah, I know. Games doesn't like too many faces. I was also curious, but I don't think there will be any more Robot Wars games in the future... but I was just wondering about others opinions on the matter. :smile:To be fair with you, it does. Regardless, it would still be better if you were to do it. Just in case you wanted to in the future.
It is a joke to call it a robotic combat game - put it that way.Very well then... seems like the money I spent on purchasing the box of Robot Arena 2 was well spent then. Although I did indeed buy Robot Arena 3, I may be able to get a full refund for it.
Those look amazingWhy thank you CodeSilver! Like I said they are finally done. I might as well do some fine tweaking on them later down the road :)
I like how these look although dead metal looks a little barren and killalot could use some red eyesAlthough these are based on the new one's, not the old one's. I might make the old one's someday
Dear community...Kind of funny, this was EXACTLY three years ago now. That was when my interest to first build the new one's came to mind.
It makes me kind of "frightened" to see how LONG this WIP topic has existed... like, 7 years? Wow...
Anyways, I thought I would blow the dust out of this topic by saying that I AM working in Blender on a brand new model of Matilda right now! I will be making the house robots after all (no deadline set, yet...) as they appeared in 2016 to the present day.
Right now my biggest challenge is to actually model them, as Robot Wars themselves through Facebook replied to me, telling me that the plans for the house robots are highly classified...
But I won't let that stop me. I WILL be making them
Hi AWGaming2020!Sorry for the late reply lol, but I'm trying to do this myself, and I'm pretty stuck
Well, I didn't convert the models from the game. I used a 3D ripper (3D Ripper DX) to extract the models from the game. Then I imported them into Blender. You can find the 3D Ripper DX here. (http://deep-shadows.com/hax/3DRipperDX.htm)
Better late than never, hehe. Well, you need to open the obj file with a text editor (I use Windows 10's standard Notepad) and check the scaling of the scene right at the start. In x and y. Then you can also rotate the scene to your liking. If you know how to import the obj into Blender, then this shouldn't be a problem. Good Luck! :smile:Hi AWGaming2020!Sorry for the late reply lol, but I'm trying to do this myself, and I'm pretty stuck

I'm able to get the models and import them into Blender, but they're all slanted and distorted, some dont even show up at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

11 years and he's finally done itWell, back in 2010 I was still quite new to 3D but that's also when the idea sparked into a fire to recreate the house robots. In the very beginning (2006) I started out with 3ds Max. When I found out about Blender in 2015, being a free program, I started using that instead. By 2018, I started the creation process of the new house robots. The project file of the new Matilda went lost, and so I restarted that project in late 2019, and finished all the new one's in 2020 along with the old one's.
