Botober 2019

F1Krazy:
(First off: I'm not sure if this is the right section. If it isn't, feel free to move it.)

Last year, I set myself a personal challenge that I dubbed "Botober": build a brand new DSL-IRL bot every day for the whole of October, using the official Inktober 2018 prompts as inspiration. I unfortunately burned out and stopped about midway through, but the idea proved popular and - to my surprise - a couple of other people actually joined in.

So this year, I've decided to open Botober up, and organise it into a proper event that anyone can enter. My intention is for this thread is to act as a central hub, where people can declare their intent to enter, provide feedback, and (once October starts) post their bots.

=== HOW IT WORKS ===

* At the bottom of this post, you'll find the Botober prompt list. This time, I've taken the Inktober prompt list and replaced some of the prompts with my own, to make them either more interesting, or more suited to RA2 building.
* Every day during October, you must create a robot based on that day's prompt, and post a splash image or screenshot in this thread.
* There are no prizes for completing all 31 days. The only prizes are personal satisfaction, and having a fleet of potential new tournament entries. This is a fun challenge, so please don't push yourself to the point of burnout in trying to complete it.
* While DSL-IRL and RR2 are best suited to Botober, you are free to use any meta you like. You can even mix-and-match: say, build a DSL-IRL robot one day, then an IF Standard robot the next.
* It's fine to build a bot early, as long as you wait until the day of its prompt to post it. Similarly, it's fine to build a bot late if you need to catch up.
* I will be taking part myself, but due to prior commitments and my limited free time, I do not expect to complete every day.
=== THE GOALS OF BOTOBER ===

* Test your creativity and building skills. Try out different weapon systems, weight classes, and even metas. Don't be afraid to go outside your comfort zone.
* Build up your roster. If you complete all 31 days, you'll have 31 robots ready to be polished up and sent into tournaments.
* Botober is a personal challenge - it's not a challenge to see who can build the best bots. Don't be discouraged if you feel other people's builds are better than your own - and remember, you can always revisit and refine your Botober creations later on.
