-
Headbutt something hard enough to knock yourself out.
-
erm no hydro painful and i might have a migrane in the morning so not a good idea since i have skl
-
Relax, clear your mind, listen to some smooth music, get off the internet. Sleep will come. Or... you could do something dumb like stay up for two days straight. Your body will quit and you will sleep regardless of if you want to. :P I suggest my first idea.
-
yeah thanks :) yeah ive been up 4 days st8 this is my 5th night and im still going XD
-
Easy way. Smash your head on something to know yourself out.

Who says good ol' Rawfly gives nightmares? He's the coolest/cuddliest farting dinosaur around! On that note, he's BLUE!
C'mon delek you know you want to.

You could watch a really boring movie.
-
Go run a few miles and then try to sleep.
-
Go to church.
-
Take one of those 5 hours energy drink, you will feel the crash in about 20 minutes.
Or try building an UHW, with axles.

As an insomnia sufferer myself, I've spent many sleepless nights pondering just how to get to sleep (Somewhat ironic, huh?) I don't have a definitive answer for you. If I did, my life would be a lot easier. Right now all I can recommend is doing something that helps calm you down right before you go to bed. A hot-tub or jacuzzi could work wonders. If I could afford one I would definately have one myself.
Some people say taking a hot shower helps, but that hasn't helped me any. Some people read, but that just sets my mind racing as well. The hardest part is finding what works for you. I used to shower right before I went to bed, but I couldn't sleep. Now I shower earlier in the night and go on the computer for a bit; read the forums, read the news, talk to some people from my Halo PC clan. You're going to have to figure out what helps you the best through some trial and error.

Focus on thinking of nothing.

Focus on thinking of nothing.
Not possible, you would have to think of nothing to think of nothing would you not?
-
Sleeping pills dude. Some people need them, so just tell your parents you have trouble sleeping.
-
Pills were my initial choice as well. The only problem was that I always oversleep and I'm barely punctual for my classes. Now I always have to wait for an hour and a half or so so I can sleep. >.<
-
I have problems sleeping too..
Gets boring moving about for 2 hours so I do stuff on my iPod until I pass out. Not exactly intentionally, but still.
-
Sleeping pills dude.
Are for wimps !

I mean "empty your mind"
-
try laying in bed with your eyes closed (I am being serious) watching TV or sitting at the computer until you feel tired doesnt always work.. if anything may keep you awake more (dependent on person to person)
either that or you have something bothering you.. its hard to sleep with the mind active..got a big test coming up? or such.. so like others said clear you mind... tell yourself you dont have to worry about it until the next day (or a particular day in some cases)

Browse your local newspaper.
Join the local support group for men with testicular cancer.
It will all work out after that.
-
Having thick pillows also really helps, IMO. It's what does it for me at least.

Thick Pillows, Hot tea, duvet that covers your feet.
-
Try every comfortable position on your bed, then go out, find a cat and cuddle it, then take some Benadryl and climb into your bed sideways and lie face-down with your arms and legs hanging off.
Worked for me.
-
I dont have a comfortable bed, It's full of hard springs.

Heh, Sorry. I can see how it came out as offensive. I apologize.
It is from the book/film "Fight Club". The main character suffers from insomnia mainly due to a depression of sorts. He finds that once he goes to support groups for life threatening illnesses he discovers that he has a new view on life. He becomes full of emotion and can let himself cry. People give him attention at the support groups like he does not normally experience, and thus he is filled with a weird kind of joy that allows him to sleep.
You should read the book, it is rather good. Good luck getting some sleep though.

I would go with the clear your mind and get comfy thing.
I used to think my bed was uncomfortably hard as well, but Boy Scouts pretty much cleared that up. 1 week at camp per year on a military surplus cot plus numerous camping trips sleeping on a thin pad is enough to make any bed the most comfortable thing you could sleep on.
Fun Fact: After my first week of summer camp (it musta been 5 years ago I think), I came home taller. I'm guessing that the cot stretched my back out or something.

Before you go to sleep, just relax. Thinking about you not being able to sleep will make it worse. Also, don't keep looking at a clock. The more you look at one, the more you will worry yourself about not being able to sleep. If you are still finding it hard, then try something like a hot bath or reading a book. These can both relax you and make you feel tired.
Hope this helps. ;)
