There really isn't any "control." If you need to vomit, then vomit. As far as staying calm, I don't know. Just remember that it will be over eventually.

Listen to him. Vomiting is sort of the body's way of flushing the system. Make sure to stay hydrated by drinking lots of water (especially after emptying your stomach contents) and try to eat light things here and there like crackers. (The salt in the crackers will also help restore electrolytes).

Get used to it. If you are vomiting a lot then just wait it out and don't try to fight it. It's like yawning, sneezing and blinking in that repect, it will always win.

vomiting is one of my fears so I always try and calm down while it happens and not panic but thanks I'm much better now and had a sleep and some water. Hopefully it's all gone away now.

I know it's (hopefully) all gone now but for future reference:

Vomiting is your body's way of emptying your stomach of what it thinks is poison. Once your stomach is empty, you will start to bring up bile which can cause pain. Always try to keep something in your stomach, like crackers, so that you don't feel too much pain.

Drinking also helps.

Ok so you have to vomit. Might as well puke like a man.

Put your feet about 1 foot apart. Put your hands on your waist and turn your arms out; take up as many space as possible: You don't want to end up like that little faggot that ended up on his knees bent over puking in a bush last week.

OK, back to puking already. Body language is the key. It is going to happen to you. Show people you don't give a flying ****. Tilt your head back a bit. Don't make the common mistake to lean over! It makes you look like you are surrendering to your antiperistaltic urges. You aren't. You own your puke. It's your puke and it is going to behave the way you ****ing want. OK, so now you have tilted your head back, put your lips as if you were about to give a kiss. Keep the opening as small as possible. Don't relax your lips! A lot of force is about to meet them and you want them to retain their position and shape, for the sake of adding a nice fountain effect.
Optional: Aim for annoying people.

OK, now let it go. It should be like a soccer throw in. Start a forward motion from your knees, then let your pelvis follow up, lower body, upper body, then as your vomit is about to reach breaking point, your neck and head. Let it go for ****'s sake. Spit it out. Look angry, yet relaxed.

Now it's out, whipe your mouth with the back of your hand, lick it off, swallow it, and walk away as if nothing happened. Congratulations! You can vomit like a man.
