GTM Robot Wars - SBV
« on: October 17, 2016, 06:15:48 PM »

This is Robot Wars!
And this tournament features robots maiming and dismantling each other, all to become the GTM Robot Wars Champion.

Battles will take place inside the bulletproof box of the Robot Wars Arena.

Featuring the Pit, the Flipper, the Spikes and the Fire.

Of course it wouldn't be Robot Wars without our House Robots!
Each fight will feature one of our House Robots - Havox, Stratton, Infrared, Megalodon, Corporal Punishment, Krocodil and Dead Metal!

The format is as follows. There will be 6 heats of 6 robots, for a total of 36 entrants.
The heat will consist of 2 3-way melees, followed by a round robin between the 4 that qualify - 3 points for a KO and 2 for a Judge's Decision. The 2 robots with the most points will go into the Heat Final.
The Heat Winners will progress to the Final episode, where the same format from the heats will take place.

As for the heats, let's check out their lineups! Melee Matchups at the bottom of each spoiler.

I thought I might have fun in my heat, then I saw Coolrunner's bot, now I know it's basically gonna be liquefied lobster. Aside from Flood XL-C and Toxic Slash 2, I should at least be able to put up a decent performance against the others.

Boldly predicting Duck Fury to win.

Here's hoping Gadreel can get through its heat, or at least make it to the league section.

Gadreel will do what Gabriel did! It's destiny! Gadreel will LIVE! Barely!

Finally, Deathstalker in its first official complete form. All thanks to that back wedge  ;)

Good luck my fellow Heat Ds, and everyone else! Gonna be a fun one!

Heat A

Ginger Step Child - One of the not so pretty bots. Depending on how well it goes it could be a problem for the vertical spinners. I think it will not loose in the groupstage because we have
Smaug- looks better than GSC but it only has a flamethrower from what I can tell. Still not a really nice lookint bot.
Agent Orange - What happend to RedAce and his buldingskills? This must be the worst looking bot comming from you. Still the best build of those 3 and it will go to the head to head fights
-----
Maelstrom - I like the skin but something about the spinning weapon looks off.Depending on how the fight goes it's either this one loosing or
F30 - Designwise it's one of my two favorites in this heat. I'm concerned about the power of the flipper. there are quite alot of extenders on it.
Fusion Reactor - With the Mechavor Disc this one is propably goingt to win the melee and also the whole heat. I still like the design alot

so my predictions for the head to head fights:

GSC - Maelstrom: 0-1
Agent Orange - Fusion Reactor 0-1

GSC - Fusion Reactor 0-1
Agent Orange - Maelstrom 0-1 <- this right here will be the most interesting fight as it decides who goes to the heatfinal

GSC - Agent Orange 0-1
Maelstrom - Fusion Reactor 0-1

Heatfinal: Fusion Reactor - Maelstrom 1-0

I thought I might have fun in my heat, then I saw Coolrunner's bot, now I know it's basically gonna be liquefied lobster. :(

I wouldn't say that so fast. That wedge in the front is nearly ornamental (AKA it don't wedge that well), and those wheel guards aren't particularly strong. Combine that with the exposed sides, and you've got a good chance to beat me.

As for my chances, I'd expect to get to the head-to-heads (if this operates the same way as the current UK RW) but not much further without some luck.

Yep. Looking real neat :D

I'm up against four spinners and a rammer. Deathstalker has a pretty good track record against spinners so far, so that's not as bad a matchup as it might seem on paper. I'm pretty sure I can get to at least the league stage.

Evil Art Project looks so pretty with that rainbow-coloured extender frame. It'd be a shame if somebody... hit it with an axe...

Heat B

Hurt Sanwich - It's a box with a spinning Disc and no protection. I thing this poor mans Supernova will loose in round one

Zlammer - it has protection wich will make it quite immune to the rather weak weapon of the sanwich. also the hammer can reach regions other bots might not be protectet at. I don't like the skin of it though

Billet 9 - There we go again with another entry in the Billet series. I'm wondering if there are any legal issues with a tournament run by MassimoV. Simple but good skin and a solid weapon. it will go to the head to head and depending on how stable it is it could win this heat
------
Witching hour - another simple but good skin. the weapon looks strong as well. from the looks of it it could go to a heat final meeting billet there

Reaper - it loos either too wide or too high. I can't tell as the screenshot is quite dark. the weapon looks almost non existing. I assume there is so much decoration on it that it is not well armoured. so I guess that means this one will drop out in round 1

Gabriel - I don't care how it is called. it's gabriel. Die! please... Die! It will die I'm sure. Many times. In the head to head rounds.

Head to Head fights:

Billet 9 - Gabriel - 1-0 Die Gabe!
Witching Hour -  Zlammer 0 - 1 I hope I don't overastimate Zlammer here but it looks well protectet and can hit the unprotected top of WH

Billet - Witching Hour 0-1 WH has a better protection
Zlammer - Gabriel 1-0 Die again

Billet - Zlammer 1-0 it really comes down to protection but Zlammer could be a dark horse in this
Witching Hour - Gabriel 1-0 Stay dead!

Heat Final: Witching Hour - Zlammer 0-1 I'm writing this down without fixing the stuff I've written above so I'm actually supprised that it could come out this way

Edit;

Thy as the post says the fight layout isn't given yet! The current order means nothing.

you tell me this now?  :gawe:
